🚨TWO YOUNG SWAT DEPUTIES WITH FOUR SMALL CHILDREN BETWEEN THEM ARE FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES after being sh*t while trying to rescue victims during a deadly domestic violence incident in Washington.
Both Spokane County deputies remain in critical condition after coming under g*nfire while entering a home near Spangle. Sheriff John Nowels said both men have very young families, with two small children each.
The violence began shortly after 2:25 p.m. when a wounded woman fled to a neighbor's home on South Smythe Road and reported that her brother had sh*t her. She warned dispatchers that two other people remained inside the residence and feared they were in danger.
Responding deputies learned the suspect had an active felony warrant for eluding and deployed drones to assess the situation. They discovered one person already de*d in the yard.
With additional victims potentially trapped inside, SWAT deputies attempted an emergency entry around 3:15 p.m. That's when someone inside the home opened fire, critically wounding two members of the team.
One deputy was airlifted by Life Flight to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, while the other was rushed to the hospital in a patrol vehicle. Both suffered life-threatening injuries.
Three people were ultimately found de*d, including the suspect, one victim in the yard and another inside the residence. The woman who initially escaped survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
Three additional deputies who returned fire have been placed on administrative leave under standard investigative procedures. Washington State Patrol is investigating the use of force, while Spokane police are handling the hom*cide investigation.
Sheriff Nowels described the wounded officers as dedicated young SWAT deputies who train every day knowing they may be called upon to risk their lives to protect others.
"They were seriously injured today going in to try to save people," he said.
The sheriff also emphasized the devastating impact on their families.
"Both of our deputies are fighting for their lives. Both have very young families."

RIP. West Virginia Deputy Sheriff Caden Mullins, who gave his life in the line of duty, is the 77th officer lost in 2026.
Deputy Sheriff Caden Mullins, 24, was killed when his cruiser was struck by a coal truck at the intersection of West Virginia Route 10 and Rum Creek Road at approximately 4:30 PM.
Deputy Mullins had attended a Trunk or Treat event in Man with his fiancee, who was riding with him. He was taking her to her residence before planning to respond to a call for service elsewhere in the county when the crash occurred.
Mullins previously served with the Charleston Police Department before joining the Logan County Sheriff's Department in August 2025.
Deputy Mullins is survived by his fiancée, his brother Deputy Jason “Gage” Mullins, and other family members.

Breaking: An Aiken County deputy was shot 3 times chasing someone who ran from a traffic stop.
It happened around 11:30pm Wednesday on Shiloh Heights Road in Aiken County, South Carolina. The deputy took rounds to the stomach, the side and the leg.
Good news this morning: the deputy is out of surgery at Wellstar MCG and listed in stable condition.
Now there’s a manhunt. WJBF reports deputies are looking for 2 suspects. The car, a Hyundai Tucson, was found around 4am. No arrest has been announced.
Shot 3 times and still fighting. Will you say a prayer for this deputy this morning?

October 23, 1983. A date forever etched in the hearts of United States Marines.
Forty-three years ago, a terrorist drove a truck loaded with explosives into the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, killing 241 American service members, including 220 Marines, 18 sailors, and 3 soldiers.
They were sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, and friends. Young Americans who had answered their country’s call, never knowing they would never see home again.
For those of us who have worn the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, Beirut is not just another tragic event in American history. Those were our brothers. We may never have met them, but we share a bond that neither time nor death can break.
Forty-three years have passed. Families have grown older, children have grown up without their fathers, and parents have gone to their graves still mourning their sons.
But I promise you one thing. The United States Marine Corps has not forgotten them, and we never will.
Rest peacefully, brothers. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Colorado's #1 Most Wanted Fugitive Sex Offender Arrested
Yesterday, members of the U.S. Marshals Colorado Violent Offender Task Force (COVOTF) Denver Metro team located and arrested fugitive Rafael HINOJOSA-BRISENO. Deputy U.S. Marshals & Task Force Officers (TFOs) from @Colorado_DOC, @PoliceEnglewood, and @LakewoodPDCO acted on an anonymous tip that was sent in to @CBI_Colorado. The CBI analyst who fielded the tip is assigned to the COVOTF and quickly relayed the information to our fugitive team.
HINOJOSA-BRISENO was located at an apartment in the 900 block of S Dahlia St in Denver and apprehended after trying to escape out a back window. He is wanted by @jeffcosheriffco for felony failure to register as a sex offender & misdemeanor assault as well as by @WheatRidgePD for felony trespassing & misdemeanor protection order violation. HINOJOSA-BRISENO's registration requirement stems from a previous conviction for attempted sexual assault on a child out of Denver County.
