Just so happens the 2027 NFL draft is shaping up to be one of the best in MANY years, especially at QB and WR. So while ownership remains the biggest hurdle in this organization’s success (and has been my entire lifetime), there’s smart vision in these recent moves…
Some of these “experts” are truly clueless.
Most franchises hope to build a championship squad around a young pass rusher and shut down corner. The Jets had a pair of blue chip players at marquee positions and shipped them away for draft picks. Despite the team’s recent struggles, it is hard to replace All-Pro/Pro Bowl-caliber players with draftees. The odds are not in the Jets’ favor, but maybe they’re able to defy conventional wisdom and find upgrades in the 2026 draft. 🤔

Smart business. Set a value and don’t cave. The Jet shed a ton of salary trading Sauce and Quinnen. Now they have a ton of picks and money to pay Jermaine and Breece if they see fit.

Trade them all. If you can get another 1st for Quinnen. A 2nd or 3rd for Breece. And while we’re at it, if anyone wants Garrett for a 1st AND a 2nd… let’s go full yard sale mode. Do what needs to be done.

The #Jets are in the midst of a full-on rebuild with Sauce Gardner gone. They dealt a player who plays a premium position without an obvious in-house replacement. Yes, they got two first rounders. Can make argument they'll now need to use one of them to find a player ... like Sauce Gardner.
Teams continue to call the #NYJ on their players. I'm told, over the last 24 hours, those conversations have softened some where it feels like the Jets are willing to make deals. This, obviously, amplifies that quite a bit.
Players to watch: Jermaine Johnson, Quinnen Williams, Quincy Williams and Breece Hall. Lot of chatter about Williams over the last 24-48 hours.
Sauce was awesome but the Jets had to do this. Two firsts plus all that money off the books. Hate to lose a good player but they were 1-7 with him, they’ll be fine without him.

Trade the owner, the front office, the coaching staff, the stadium, the price of tickets and the dreadful game day atmosphere first.
Giving up any of these players for this absurd compensation and watching them be stars elsewhere would be SOJ.

Sad thing is the jets are one of the more profitable franchises in the NFL. In his eyes (and most others) that’s the measurement of success.
But the truth is that he’s done every possible thing to destroy this franchise and has ZERO self awareness.
