Measured against Adams’ standard most didn’t make the cut.
Money picked the field. Machinery picked the winners. Virtue wasn’t on the ballot.
And the good men who sat it out don’t get to complain.
I stepped off the sideline once. I’ll do it again.
~ Doc
In The 5,000 Year Leap, the Founders’ 3rd Principle is clear: the most promising way to secure a virtuous and morally stable people is to elect virtuous leaders. 📜
Samuel Adams warned that “neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt.” The true friend of liberty “will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man.” Officials must have experience, training, proven virtue, and demonstrated wisdom; not mere ambition, money, or name.
Jefferson distinguished the “natural aristocracy” of virtue and talents from the artificial one based on wealth and birth alone. The best government selects the former into office.
The Founders also warned of a deeper failure: the day when the best-qualified people refuse the tedious, arduous, and sometimes unpleasant task of filling important public offices. The natural tendency is to encourage others to run while staying on the sidelines. They knew strong self-government would be impossible unless that changed. It should be counted an honor to be drafted into politics.
After the 2026 midterms, the question is straightforward: Do the candidates offered (and the ones who win) reflect standards of wisdom, virtue, experience, and moral character over money, name, or political machinery? Are the good and able still sitting out, leaving the field to those less fit?
A constitutional republic thrives only when the wise and virtuous step forward to lead, not merely push others. Choices driven by anything less risk the liberty and stability the Founders built. The remedy remains what they prescribed: elect the wise and virtuous, and if you are among them, stop sitting on the sidelines and step up.
What do you see when you measure today’s choices against that standard?
Do you feel that the midterm elected were chosen because of their virtue and goodness?

77 proposed 765kV routes. 18 avoided CCP-connected land. Randy Nunns warned them. The @PUCT still chose to cross it. Why pass the Lone Star Infrastructure Protection Act if our own agency won’t honor it? Will they be held accountable? #txlege
They were warned. Then, by Randy Nunns’s count, 59 of 77 proposed 765kV routes crossed Chinese-owned land in Val Verde County. Nearly 77%.
@VOGTforEnergy asks: How does that happen?
Texans deserve answers from the @PUCT youtube.com/shorts/LJXe_6jRQ…
It is not always the things that are said out loud to the public, but the quieter things that are said in meetings or private conversations that should also be paid attention to.
Not everyone is privy to those conversations, and I do not (cannot) share all of those conversations for various reasons. With that, I am going to share with you all an email that was shared with me from my good friend and father figure Dwayne Collins (Doc) who just returned from his work at our border.
"One of our members, I will refer to him by his radio handle “Thumper”, works in Waco as an IT professional for one of the area hospitals. He is also a member of the Department of Homeland Security on its advisory board of Emergency Management for Waco and McClendon County. His expertise is radio communication.
He shared with us that not only has Waco and McClendon County but cities and counties across our state have been advised to be prepared for any major mass catastrophe be it natural, financial, or terroristic.
They are in the process of major upgrades to their communications abilities with encrypted radio systems that can communicate not only across adjoining county lines but statewide. They now have a drone that sits atop their county courthouse that is deployed at moment’s notice to any major occurrence reported. With its night vision capabilities either day or night it is over the scene sizing up conditions before the first responders ever arrive.
Thumper also shared with us words from nearby Ft. Hood that apply not only to that installation but all US Military Bases. Word has come down from the Department of War that being Pete Hegseth that they must all be prepared to be completely self-sufficient for at least a 90-day period not relying on any outside support. Many of the bases are now installing nuclear power plants to supply their own energy needs.
Stay Vigilant,
Doc"

Remember Feb 2021 in Texas? In Plano, 7 days without power, 10 without water, -2 degrees, 246 people died.
It was the first time I saw local news people visibly pissed off with what was happening. If it weren’t for the sheet of ice outside, I would be in prison right now because I would’ve gone to Austin and killed that Ercot man lol!

DON'T LET FOREIGN COMMIES MESS WITH TEXAS‼️
Chinese Billionaire with Military Ties Still Owns Land on Texas Power Line Route
A Chinese billionaire who used to be a captain in China’s military and has long ties to the Chinese Communist Party bought a huge amount of land in West Texas, right near an Air Force base.
He tried to build a big wind farm on that land and plug it directly into Texas’s power grid. Texas lawmakers saw the risk and passed a law in 2021 to stop people or companies from China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea from getting control or access to things like our power grid. That law worked. The wind farm project was blocked from connecting to the grid, and the original Chinese-linked plan was shut down. Neighboring ranchers later sued the grid operator to make sure it stayed shut down.
Even though the wind farm was stopped, companies tied to the same man still own a lot of that land. Now Texas is planning massive new high-voltage power lines across the state. Some of the routes go right near or across land still owned by those companies. The head of the state’s utility commission was named in the related lawsuit, so he knows exactly who this is.
This is the kind of situation the Lone Star Infrastructure Protection Act was meant to prevent. Giving someone with those background ties a stake in or next to critical power lines creates a real risk to the grid that powers homes, hospitals, and businesses.
Texas already has a law that stops people from certain countries from buying new land. It should go further and give the state a way to deal with land that was already bought by people or companies with Chinese military or government ties, especially when that land sits under or next to vital infrastructure or military bases.
The 765kv lines clearly need to be stopped for many reasons, and this just proves that further. Potential vulnerabilities from adversaries should be a no brainer, especially when the chairman for the Public Utility Commission of Texas is fully aware of who this man is and his ties to the CCP military.
If you want these lines STOPPED until the land ownership and security risks are fully reviewed, YOU can submit a public comment to the PUCT on Docket 59336 (Howard to Solstice 765 kV line). Go to the PUCT website, search for Docket 59336, and use the Interchange Filer to file a comment. Tell them the lines should not move forward until the known foreign ownership issues near the route are addressed and the grid is protected under the Lone Star Infrastructure Protection Act.
The U.S. military is already preparing for the possibility that the power grid could be attacked or go down. Under a new program called FORTRESS America, major military bases are being set up so they can keep running on their own power even if the civilian grid fails. They are getting ready for that risk.
The question is whether the rest of us are doing the same.
Are you prepared to lose power if a man such as this or his allies are able to cause damage to our power grid? How well protected do you think our grid actually is?

War or No War. Power or No Power. Are You Ready?
This post has blown up more than anything I’ve ever shared, and it hasn’t even been up for two full days. I’ve been covering the risk of the power grid going down for two years now. That means reading the actual documents, looking at the known vulnerabilities, and tracking what foreign adversaries have already done or are actively trying to do. The reason this one took off is simple: people are paying attention.
The image in the post is a real internal memo from the Department of War. It creates a new program called “FORTRESS America.” The goal is to make sure the U.S. military can keep operating even if the power grid, supply chains, or other critical systems are attacked or disrupted. In plain English, the government is preparing for the possibility that we could lose power and access to basic resources on a large scale.
I’m 37. Like a lot of people my age, my whole life has been made up of one crisis after another. We’ve lived through wars, a pandemic, economic hits, and constant uncertainty. Most of us are just tired. We want boring. We want quiet. That’s why so many people started raising chickens, learning to can food, baking their own bread, growing gardens, and focusing on their families. We are over "drama" and now we just want stability.
The comments on this post have been all over the place. Some people say it’s fearmongering. Some think it’s a distraction from the election. Others say they’d actually welcome less technology and fewer people for a while. A few even argue we need some kind of hard reset because things are broken. All of those reactions miss the main point of my post.
War or no war. Power or no power. The real question is simple: if the lights went out for an extended period, could you and your family get through it?
Ronald Reagan once said the nine most terrifying words in the English language are “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.” Relying completely on the government, or on any outside system, to take care of you when things break is a risky bet. Learning basic skills isn’t crazy. It’s practical. Knowing how to store food and water, grow some of your own food, and handle basic needs doesn’t cost much, and it can even save you money over time. Starvation and dehydration are slow and miserable ways to go. The information on how to avoid that is free. You can learn much of it from the very device you are using to read this post.
I’m not saying the grid is going down tomorrow. I’m saying the people responsible for national defense are openly preparing for the possibility that it could. That should be enough for the rest of us to at least ask ourselves whether we’re prepared too.
How are you and your loved ones preparing? Comment below links or resources for people to learn a new life saving skill or even recipes or techniques you have learned that can save a life. Bonus points if it is cheap or costs nothing.

As we head into the midterms, there is no more important time to understand how elections are stolen. We are not talking about voter fraud, this is about stealing entire elections. Here is a rare look into how that is done, how it began & where it is going. For the love of God, pay attention. Your ability to have any say in how you live is what is on the ballot this November. If you think this is about what Trump has or has not done yet so you may not vote, then you are not looking at the monster standing right in front of you.

⚠️ CCP Ties, Texas Power Lines: Why Did the PUC Approve This Route?
We are in danger, and Texans deserve answers.
In September 2025, Randy Nunns asked CPS Energy, AEP, and consultant Burns & McDonnell a direct question about planned 765 kV transmission lines: “What are you going to do about the Chinese-owned land?”
They said they didn’t know. Randy emailed the details. They thanked him.
Six months later, the utilities filed 77 proposed routes. By Randy’s count, 59 crossed Chinese-owned land in Val Verde County alone. Nearly 77% were on CCP owned land! How do you overlook that much?
The utilities, SOAH judges, and @PUCTX were warned about the national security threat of routing critical power infrastructure across foreign-adversary-owned land. Yet the PUC approved one of those routes anyway.
If our regulators won’t protect our critical infrastructure, who will?

YOUR voice really does matter here. Don't like your power bill? Step it up and get your comments on the actual considered record. Not the time to be silent.
Social media is still not the official record.
As of this morning, Project 58317 at the Public Utility Commission of Texas has 112 filings. That is up from 107 two weeks ago. The newest ones include Bee County, more comments on data centers and 765 kV, and another on the Governor’s audit. The last one went in on October 22. Five days of quiet since‼️
About 80 of those filings are comments from residents and neighbors since the August audit letter. That is the whole statewide paper trail. A packed local meeting can outnumber it in an hour.
PUCT is a state agency. It regulates electric utilities across Texas. ERCOT is one of the grids in this state, not the only one. If you live here and you have a real concern about data centers, industrial solar, wind, batteries, or 765 kV lines, this is the file that counts.
The Governor’s audit letters are already in it. The first official write-up is still aimed at December. Between now and then, silence reads like acceptance.
You do not need a lawyer. You do not need perfect words. You need your name on paper.
1. Write a short note. Your name, city or county, the project near you, and what you have seen. Save it as a PDF. These filings are public, so leave out account numbers.
2. Go to interchange.puc.texas.gov/fi…
3. Click Begin, enter Control Number 58317
4. Filing Party is your name. Filing Type: Comments
5. Upload and submit. Keep the confirmation email.
Five to ten minutes. Then it sits next to the Governor’s letters.
Read the file: search 58317 at interchange.puc.texas.gov
If you already filed, send this to one neighbor who has been loud online and quiet on paper. Talking is not filing. Filing is how the record moves.
The military is preparing for a homeland that can’t be starved out, shut down, or cut off. Are you?
The people in charge of our military just quietly started a major program to make sure our bases can keep running even if the power grid, water systems, and supply chains get attacked or cut off. They’re treating it like a real possibility, not a movie plot.
Most Americans can’t go more than a few days without electricity and running water. No power means no water treatment, no refrigeration, no gas pumps, no communications, and hospitals running on LIMITED backup. History and basic logistics show that a week-long regional outage would lead to serious illness, chaos, and mass casualties of life. That’s not theory. That’s how modern life is built.
Congress has been warning about this for years. Last March, a bipartisan House committee focused on China held a hearing with experts from national labs and homeland security. They described Chinese hackers who have already gotten inside American power, water, and telecom systems. Not to steal secrets, but to be ready to disrupt them if there’s a big crisis. The most likely trigger they pointed to is a conflict over Taiwan. Chinese leader Xi Jinping has told his military to be ready for a Taiwan operation by 2027. That doesn’t mean an invasion is scheduled for a specific day, but it does mean Beijing is preparing the capability, and U.S. officials have said American infrastructure could be hit to complicate our response.
This year there have been repeated attacks and probes against water systems and other critical infrastructure on American soil. At the same time, a huge share of the solar panels, inverters, and large battery storage systems going onto the U.S. grid use parts or technology from China. Some of the biggest Chinese companies in those fields have been put on the Defense Department’s list of companies tied to China’s military. A Chinese battery company, Hithium, even opened a plant in Dallas county assembling these systems. Just this month a Texas appeals court sided with Texas and ERCOT, upholding a state law that blocked a Chinese-owned solar company from connecting to the Texas grid. This was after the company sued stating that the federal government gave them the right to connect. The court treated it as a legitimate way to protect Texas critical infrastructure and stopped this from moving forward.
The military’s new “FORTRESS America” effort is America's response to these ongoing threats. It’s focused on making bases more independent for power, supplies, cyber defense, and the ability to keep operating if the civilian grid and supply chains go down.
In plain terms: the Pentagon is preparing for the possibility that an adversary tries to turn off the lights and water at home during a crisis. They’re not calling it the boogeyman. The military does not fearmonger. They prepare.
The question is whether the rest of us are preparing for the same scenario.
This isn’t about panic. It’s about recognizing that the people responsible for national defense are already treating long power and water disruptions as a realistic wartime risk (especially if tensions over Taiwan escalate) and taking steps to reduce dependence. Ordinary households can do the same on a smaller scale.
The military is building a backup. What’s yours?
Share below what you are doing and any tips or tricks you may have for your fellow American's.
It is better to prepare and not need it; than to need it and not be prepared.
