Measured against Adams’ standard most didn’t make the cut. Money picked the field. Machinery picked the winners. Virtue wasn’t on the ballot. And the good men who sat it out don’t get to complain. I stepped off the sideline once. I’ll do it again. ~ Doc
In The 5,000 Year Leap, the Founders’ 3rd Principle is clear: the most promising way to secure a virtuous and morally stable people is to elect virtuous leaders. 📜 Samuel Adams warned that “neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt.” The true friend of liberty “will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man.” Officials must have experience, training, proven virtue, and demonstrated wisdom; not mere ambition, money, or name. Jefferson distinguished the “natural aristocracy” of virtue and talents from the artificial one based on wealth and birth alone. The best government selects the former into office. The Founders also warned of a deeper failure: the day when the best-qualified people refuse the tedious, arduous, and sometimes unpleasant task of filling important public offices. The natural tendency is to encourage others to run while staying on the sidelines. They knew strong self-government would be impossible unless that changed. It should be counted an honor to be drafted into politics. After the 2026 midterms, the question is straightforward: Do the candidates offered (and the ones who win) reflect standards of wisdom, virtue, experience, and moral character over money, name, or political machinery? Are the good and able still sitting out, leaving the field to those less fit? A constitutional republic thrives only when the wise and virtuous step forward to lead, not merely push others. Choices driven by anything less risk the liberty and stability the Founders built. The remedy remains what they prescribed: elect the wise and virtuous, and if you are among them, stop sitting on the sidelines and step up. What do you see when you measure today’s choices against that standard? Do you feel that the midterm elected were chosen because of their virtue and goodness?

77 proposed 765kV routes. 18 avoided CCP-connected land. Randy Nunns warned them. The @PUCT still chose to cross it. Why pass the Lone Star Infrastructure Protection Act if our own agency won’t honor it? Will they be held accountable? #txlege
They were warned. Then, by Randy Nunns’s count, 59 of 77 proposed 765kV routes crossed Chinese-owned land in Val Verde County. Nearly 77%. @VOGTforEnergy asks: How does that happen? Texans deserve answers from the @PUCT youtube.com/shorts/LJXe_6jRQ…

Definitely, our government actually recommends two weeks of everything to survive on. Nothing wrong with prepping nowadays. The Katrina response was enough for me. I really want a bunker but if I had one I couldn't tell anyone so 😕.
