Unity is where a peaceful transition begins. As @phelemawi reports, EBRF chairman Beyene Gerezgiher (@BeyeneGerezghe1) and Dawit Yibrah met Ali Yassin, chairperson of the Red Sea Afar movement. Together they assessed Eritrea's political situation and the wider region, and agreed to meet again to build shared plans and closer coordination. This is what serious political work looks like. For three decades the PFDJ system has ruled by keeping Eritreans apart: by region, by faith, by language and by community. The Afar of the Red Sea coast, like other communities, have long spoken of marginalization and displacement, with no parliament and no court where their voices could be heard. The Eritrean Blue Revolution Front (@BlueFront90547) is building the opposite: a broad, inclusive coalition of Eritrean democratic forces, joined through dialogue rather than imposed from the top. Its vision is clear: - An Eritrea that belongs equally to all of its peoples, the Afar included - The 1997 Constitution implemented, with rights and equal citizenship protected by law - An elected National Assembly where every region and community is represented - Independent courts, freedom for political prisoners and an end to indefinite national service - A peaceful, time-limited transition, followed by free and fair elections - A Red Sea coast that serves its people, and good relations with every neighbour A credible transition is not built by one movement alone. It is built when Eritreans from every community agree on a common plan and a shared constitutional future. This meeting is one more step on that road.
