When @realDonaldTrump was elected for his first term, innumerable people including most of my academic colleagues said that the worst realities would befall the United States. None of those things happened. They then said that he would wait until his second term to end democracy, institute martial law, etc. None of those things have happened. Is there a SINGLE honest individual amongst those people who is willing to admit that they were grossly incorrect and hence irrationally unhinged?

Victorians deserve to know how the Liberals plan to fix Victoria’s finances when as soon as the election came around, they opened the chequebook and made $10billion in election promises.
You can’t claim to offer a fresh start while delivering more of the same old uni-party politics.
Victorians are struggling with the cost of living, rising debt and a government that has lost control. They deserve answers and to know what they’ll get.

If she truly wants to put Victorians first as she claims, how can she dismiss such a huge portion of Victorians who support us from being heard? What does she have to hide?
Perhaps she knows that in an open and unscripted dialogue, Victorians would see that she does not represent the conservative opposition that she should?
Or maybe she doesn’t want the people to see that while she claims to be the one who will exercise responsible fiscal management and who will bring Victoria into surplus, she has also made over $10billion dollars - of your money - in election promises?
Like major parties always do, she opened the chequebook as soon as the election approached.

Really though, these names and satirical characterisations, while not always particularly classy or polite, are par for the course in public life.
We have to be tough enough to handle these criticisms, or go and become hermits.

Former Police Officer for 16 years here - served in Victoria Police. 8 Years on the Front Line - many of those years working in the CBD, many times at the various protests that would occur at Parliament Steps, or surrounds.
I can unequivocally say, as will many former cops who see this post - that The Left Wing Protest Groups were always far more violent and extreme in their protest behavior than any right wing motivated group.
Every.Single.Time.
It has only gotten worse, and just like police have lost control of crime on the streets, they have lost control of dealing with these violent thugs, so much so, that the police response now is to "Move on" the peaceful Right-Wing motivated groups and let the Left-Wing Extremists have at it.
