I met with residents in Kensington and Berea — communities supplied by the Alexander Park and Berea reservoirs. Some families have now gone 24 days in a row without water. And the Gauteng Water Crisis is only just beginning.
In Olivedale today, I found one of Joburg’s “secret leaks” — barely visible from the road, yet losing thousands of litres of clean water every day. Over months, residents have reported it again and again. Joburg Water closes the calls, but does nothing.
These hidden leaks aren’t isolated — they add up to over 500 million litres of water lost every single day across Joburg.
Executive Mayor Dada Morero and Joburg Water owe residents answers: what is being done to stop this crisis from spiralling further?

So now the Acting Minister with a wink from his boss suddenly knows better than the National Commissioner? How convenient. After parading the Madlanga Commission as the beacon of truth, you’ve now gone and confirmed what many South Africans have been saying all along: it’s a complete hoax, a political theatre piece designed to buy time and protect the powerful.
Why, Mr President and Acting Minister, do you question the National Commissioner for doing his job returning the 121 dockets for proper closure and arrests? Is it because justice threatens to knock on doors too close to your own? Or is patriotism simply too heavy a burden for you to carry when accountability is at stake?
Spare the nation the pretense. If you were genuinely committed to justice, you’d back the Commissioner, not undermine him. But then again, why bother with closure when protecting the untouchables is clearly the real agenda!

The ANC VAT budget doesn’t have a majority, and the DA won’t give it one. The DA wants a series of major reforms that would grow the economy, create jobs, reduce waste and bring down taxes within 3 years. The ANC must accept that it no longer holds a majority.
