Rich, content block based UI becomes the default for AI chat.
Why this seemingly superficial thing is really important is that it turns chat in an operating system.
An operating system is a platform to run applications and until now the apps produce documents or continuous feeds and the apps sit in the OS.
By enabling rich content blocks in the chat that are fully interactive, it reverses the paradigm and the applications run in the feeds, taking chat towards replacing the OS and the app store entirely.
This is the biggest architectural shift in computer interaction since the invention of the web browser.

hey @OpenAI you completely lost the plot. gpt 6 in chat is a SCAM. thats it.
gpt 6 sol is #64 in text arena (1457). under glm 5. under deepseek v4 pro. under sonnet 5. under 5.6 terra (they share same base). the model it replaces, 5.6 sol, is #20 (1484).
gpt 6 luna is #90 (1443). level with 4o from march 2025.
what you get for it:
-api price $4/$20 to $2/$10
-intelligence index 47 to 48 (so nothing)
-omniscience accuracy 59% to 54% (knows less. smaller base)
-gdpval 100 elo DOWN (shorter answers that leave out what you asked for)
sol 6 came out for work and codex only. 7 days later 6.1 replaced it there. it was a (bad) coding model and everyone who used it knows it should never be a chat model. now its the chat model for every plus user.

When I first started reading this post, I was already pretty happy: ChatGPT responses are going to become more visual and easier to understand, with more tables, charts, visualizations, and other elements that make information easier to process!
ChatGPT is becoming even more convenient for everyday use, and in my opinion, it already has the best and most polished interface of any AI app!
But then I saw the most important part: all of this is coming to Chat Mode, and the model there is finally getting upgraded!

Still, I have one question: why GPT-6 Sol instead of GPT-6.1 Sol?
In terms of intelligence, GPT-6 Sol isn’t that much better than GPT-5.6 Sol. In my opinion, the real leap happened with GPT-6.1
