I met with executives and representatives of the Ghana Union of Traders' Associations (GUTA) to discuss issues affecting traders in Ghana. They raised concerns about high import duties and demurrage costs, the increase of VAT for informal sector operators to 20%, the lack of access to EXIM loans, foreigners taking over the retail trade, high cost of rent and Goodwill payment for shops, etc.
The discussions were eye-opening and GUTA also came with proposals to resolve some of these challenges. We also discussed the importance of transitioning from just importing to producing these goods in Ghana and the incentives to encourage them to do so. It was a very productive meeting, and my thanks to GUTA for this meeting.

Yesterday, I had fruitful discussions with the leadership of the Ghana Artisans Association, hairdressers and beauticians, tailors and dressmakers, barbers, as well as representatives from the construction and building materials industry, to deliberate on issues and challenges facing their respective businesses.
Given the huge potential for job creation in these industries, it is important that we pay attention to supporting and growing them, especially in the areas of training and certification, the use of solar power, access to credit, and a simplified tax system.
My sincere thanks to all the representatives for making time to attend the meeting.

Bruno Guimarães adds an extra dimension to Arsenal in the sense that he is ALWAYS looking to make the most progressive pass possible.
But not in an overly vertical or technically secure way.
With that risk comes more turnovers, sure, but Arsenal needed more risk in the final third.
Instead of trying to score the perfect goal they can lose the ball high, counter-press, and create artificial transitions close to the opposition's goal in spaces that previously wouldn't have been there. Like Klopp's Liverpool.
You'll often see Bruno hold onto the ball until the very last millisecond before he is tackled too. He does this when he's trying to find a progressive passing but he's not happy with his options so he'll orient himself into different angles to make a meaningful difference in the game. If he can't find the ideal progressive action, he has no problem attracting pressure and then popping a pass off. Even if the action itself isn't overly progressive, it creates space elsewhere because he attracts pressure.
It's a profile Arsenal have been lacking amongst the perfectness of Saliba, Rice, Ødegaard, Saka, and co.
It's the Eze, Calafiori, and Bruno's of the world who try something that others wouldn't that Arsenal have historically lacked under Arteta.
When you mix technically secure players with players who take risks then you can get a very nice balance of control + penetration.
It may result in more technical errors and slightly less control in games, but that's not always a bad thing if you have a team who can manage open spaces and possess a bigger offensive threat than the opposition (again, this is where Klopp's Liverpool excelled).

So much nonsense being written/said about @Cristiano .. same kind of bitter, cynical, jealous crap he’s had to deal with his entire career from people who’ve no idea what he’s really like.
I do: great guy, even greater player. Give this sporting icon the respect he deserves.

Between 2009 and 2018, Manchester City's transfer business significantly weakened their Premier League rivals.
From losing Gareth Barry to Samir Nasri, teams including Aston Villa and Arsenal suffered directly as a result of City's squad building over the period for which they have now been found guilty of breaching financial rules.
@JackPittBrooke analyses the lasting damage inflicted on other teams by the club's transfer policy in that time.

It was a seemingly innocuous email, sent on a Wednesday morning in January 2017, that started everything.
Arriving in the inbox of a senior official at Manchester City, it appeared to have been sent by an employee from European football’s governing body, UEFA, and contained a link to a financial compliance report.
The City official clicked the download button. That was all it took.
It was not a genuine email from UEFA but a successful phishing attempt by Portuguese hacker and activist Rui Pinto. City’s servers were breached, allowing Pinto to retrieve thousands of emails and documents from the club’s systems.
This week, almost 10 years on from Pinto’s first email, the Premier League announced that an independent panel had found City guilty of all but one of the charges against them, as The Athletic first revealed last Friday.
