Thank you to MP @SalmaZahid15 and the Canada-Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Group for raising this issue with Minister Lena Metlege Diab. @LenaMetlegeDiab , when will these students finally be allowed to come to Canada?

Thank you @SalmaZahid15 for speaking up and standing with our students. The lack of urgency is unacceptable.
As chair of the Canada-Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Group I, along with our vice-chairs, on behalf of our members, wrote to Immigration Minister Lena Diab regarding the large number of students from Gaza with offers to study at Canadian universities still waiting ...

Over 200 Jewish Canadians have signed our open letter calling on Immigration Minister Lena Diab and the Government of Canada to urgently facilitate the evacuation of Palestinian students in Gaza who have already been admitted to Canadian universities and colleges. These students have secured admission, scholarships, and opportunities to continue their education. What many cannot secure on their own is a safe way out of Gaza and a workable path through Canada’s visa process. Palestinian students should not be treated as a threat to Jewish safety simply because of their nationality. Canada has the ability to give these students a path out of genocide and back into classrooms. It must do so. Read the full letter: ijvcanada.org/open-letter-to…

Thank you @IndJewishVoices for supporting our students! @LenaMetlegeDiab how many more organizations, MPs, faculty members, and Canadians need to speak up before you take action?

Canada has shown it can decides quickly when it needs to. However, when it comes to Palestinian students that is not the case. PM @MarkJCarney how many more months do our students have to wait?

We demand that your government extend the same emergency pathways to Palestinian students fleeing conflict that have been made available to students from other conflict zones. We are not asking for anything more or less. Speaker: @gur from @JewsSayNo

On Monday, September 28th, Kevin Gould representing the @FacultyJewish spoke at a press conference advocating for students in Gaza. The @CitImmCanada has treated Palestinian students as a security question for far too long and has caused unnecessary delays to their education.

These students have been waiting for more than 2 years for a response, but have been left with complete silence. Other countries have found solutions for Palestinian students, yet Canada continues to give students false hope and bureaucratic excuses.

If Spain can do it, why can’t Canada, @CitImmCanada? Spain has evacuated 25 students from Gaza, after coordinating the evacuation of students three times over the past two years. If other countries can find a way to bring their students & support their education, Canada can too.

"We are not asking Canada for anything it hasn't already done for students in crisis. We are asking for the same consistency, the same transparency and the same urgency." Students in Gaza have been waiting for more than 2 years for a response from the @CitImmCanada.
