This is so welcome but ….. for an individual to turn it off is surely criminal, for an ally would have been unthinkable. Suppose in the Battle of Britain, radar had been turned off?
The most important thing today is that Starlink and Starshield operations have been restored to the speeds we had before the restrictions. The speeds are now where they need to be. The restoration began overnight, and by this morning, speeds were already sufficient. This matters: for our frontline logistics, for defending Ukraine against jet-powered “shaheds.”
I thank all Americans and all our partners who took this seriously and truly helped – members of Congress, senators, all the media, the State Department, and the President. Protecting lives matters.

Well, well, well.
Russia uses cluster munitions against Ukrainian civilians.
That's because Putin is a "humanitarian".
Or is it because he's a murdering, Nazi bastard?

What if this was Britain fighting Russia for its very survival and then its American ally turned against us. It would be our children being murdered, our families enduring the cold of winter. Look at yourselves America! theguardian.com/world/2026/o…

Brexit cost an estimated £90 billion in lost tax revenue in 2025 alone. That money could have eased the tax burden on working people and funded our NHS and public services.
I welcome the Prime Minister’s opening to Europe, but he must go further. Rejoining the single market and a customs union would bring growth and prosperity back to Britain.
With war in Europe and an unpredictable White House, our security also depends on standing with our closest neighbours - cross-border problems need cross-border solutions.

Congratulations to Carole Cadwalladr, @carolecadwalla, who together with colleagues first revealed this story.

I don't care what anyone says, I believe we can end rough sleeping in Britain.
Today is World Homeless Day, and I don't think anyone in this country should be sleeping rough on our streets. Certainly not tonight.
That's why one of the first commitments I made as Prime Minister was to end rough sleeping. Not manage it. Not reduce it. End it.
And I'm putting over £400 million behind a national drive to get everyone in for Christmas.
And to put my own money where my mouth is, I'm making my latest salary donation from my PM salary to The Passage in Victoria, an amazing charity I visited on my very first day in Downing Street.
All this will help make sure that every person sleeping rough is offered a route off the street and a safe place to stay because, in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, people should not be left to sleep outside with nowhere to turn.
This isn't the finish line. We'll keep building the homes, creating the jobs, and reforming the services to stop people reaching crisis point in the first place.
But today, I wanted to say this: we should never accept rough sleeping as normal. Not in Britain, not in 2026, and not while I'm Prime Minister.

Is @gabyhinsliff right that a re-run of the Brexit debate could save the Tories? @pollytoynbee draws attention to the low profile group of ‘wets’ who favour EU membership. It is a process that will demand of @andyburnham great political skill. theguardian.com/commentisfre…
