Lies, lies and more lies by Farage on Turkiye. I should know - I have been writing about it for 26 years and bemoaning the EU’s double standards on Türkiye’s EU accession bid.
#BBCLauraK: “You said that Turkey was being fast tracked into the EU, that wasn’t right was it?” Nigel Farage: “Yes it was. We’ve been paying Turkey billions in aid for many years” LK: “It wasn’t true they were being fast tracked” NF: “It was entire true” LK: “It wasn’t true”

By this logic, should Britain stop reciprocal youth mobility with New Zealand, Canada and Australia because they have smaller populations than us? Of course not. The numbers moving in each direction won’t be identical when countries differ in size, history and opportunity. That doesn’t make reciprocity unfair. And 5.7 million EU citizens with settled status reflects people who already made their lives here under the Withdrawal Agreement, not a head-to-head tally of who “got the better deal”. Young people deserve the chance to live and work abroad. Treating that as a threat because of where they come from is xenophobia.
Reciprocal doesn't mean equal. Around 5.7 million EU citizens have secured residence status in the UK, compared with roughly 1 million British citizens living across the EU. That's a staggering imbalance. Add access to UK home university fees, student finance and public services for eligible EU citizens, and who's really getting the better deal? British youngsters deserve opportunities abroad, but not at the expense of another unequal arrangement that leaves Britain carrying the greater burden. Don't confuse reciprocity with fairness.

David Glosser, Stephen Miller's uncle, told CNN his nephew is an "immigration hypocrite": Our family history is entirely dependent on our ability to escape a terrible situation in Belarus. Had we not been able to enter America when we did, Stephen Miller would not exist. Everybody else who didn't make it to America ended up dying in the Holocaust.

When historians rank the Presidents, Trump requires an asterisk, because his rank at the bottom is so extreme, placing him on the list without a disclaimer throws off the entire rest of the calculations.

I have a history PhD from Oxford and try to support all of my historical claims with strong evidence, particularly when regarding the president of the United States. But based on a comprehensive review of 250 years of American history, it is simply irrefutable that Donald Trump is by far the most corrupt president in U.S. history when it comes to using the office to enrich himself and his family. Here are the facts, and why there isn’t even a close second. Trump’s own federal financial disclosure reported more than $1.4 billion in 2025 income from family crypto ventures, including about $635 million from his meme coin and nearly $800 million from World Liberty Financial. Reuters separately estimated that the family added at least $2.3 billion to its fortune from crypto ventures after Trump returned to the White House. The clearest example of how Trump used the office came in May 2025. The 220 biggest holders of his meme coin were invited to dine with the sitting president at his private golf club. The coin jumped more than 60 percent when the dinner was announced. To get a seat at the table, you had to buy and hold a product that made the president money. Trump turned access to the presidency into a sales pitch. The foreign dealings raise an even more serious question. Four days before Trump took office, an investment vehicle backed by a UAE national security official agreed to pay $500 million for nearly half of World Liberty Financial. The Wall Street Journal reported that $187 million of the initial payment was directed to Trump family entities. Trump is clearly not the first United States president to be guilty of corruption, but the size and scale of his malfeasance put him in a league of his own. Under Ulysses S. Grant, whiskey distillers and federal officials pocketed money by cheating the government out of liquor taxes. Under Warren Harding, Interior Secretary Albert Fall took bribes in exchange for leasing federal oil reserves. Richard Nixon had a personal tax scandal, but his defining abuse of presidential power was the Watergate cover-up, an effort to protect his hold on office. LBJ’s political connections helped turn a small Texas radio station into a family broadcasting empire. By September 2025, less than eight months into Donald Trump’s second term, he and his family were roughly $5 billion richer than they had been around the 2024 election, according to Forbes. In comparison, a reasonable estimate is that all 44 other U.S. presidents combined added about $250 million to their wealth while in office, adjusted to today’s dollars. That puts the Trump family’s gain at about 20 times the estimated combined total for all other presidents over the course of two and half centuries. The election results were, at least in part, a clear repudiation of this staggering and historically unprecedented corruption. Congress now has a mandate to investigate, follow the money, pursue the recovery of all ill-gotten gains, and enact enforceable safeguards so that no president can ever again use the White House as a vehicle for personal enrichment.

The weird thing about Rubio is he escapes ANY accountability in the press for the entire world basically being on fire right now even though he's the first SOS/NSA since Kissinger. Just does absolutely nothing in either job but gets kid glove treatment in the press.

People keep talking about raw milk like American redneck troglodytes, indirectly insulting Louis Pasteur, who developed pasteurisation and helped save millions through his work on disease and microbiology.
Scotland is run by muppets. I buy a lot of milk fresh from a local farm shop. It tastes amazing. But in Scotland, we aren't allowed to sell raw milk, even from a farm shop. For over 40 years now, it has been prohibited in Scotland because of "health concerns" for the general public. On the other hand however, we do have a tax payer funded shooting gallery in Glasgow where you can take you Class As in a safe environment. Because drinking milk is dangerous but taking heroin is assisted by the govt.

Again, this is the classic problem with Andy Burnham's strategy. Lisa Nandy is simultaneously deploying two entirely contradictory lines. "We don't want the Brexit debate reopened. But Brexit isn't working, so we need to reopen the issue". What exactly is the Government's policy.

Laughable stuff. Lincoln freed the slaves and defeated the Confederacy. Trump is an important political figure. But his main achievement in his second term has been to throw away a golden opportunity for a Republican realignment. And build a ballroom. Badly.
President Trump is the most transformative political leader in American History — and he has single-handedly saved America from those who would destroy it. It has been the privilege of my lifetime to have served on his team from Day One, and I am honored beyond words to serve as his White House Chief of Staff. I want to thank the incomparable Susie Wiles for her years of devoted service to the President and the Country, and for her friendship. The mission now is more clear than ever: Fight with all of our soul to support our President and defend this magnificent Republic.
