⚖️Polymarket Russia-Ukraine diplomatic-meeting contract is trading near 99¢, but a proposed Yes resolution has been disputed.
Today’s prisoner exchange offers another possible basis for Yes. BelTA reported that the Ukrainian and Russian human rights commissioners met in person at the Belarus border.
The rules do not explicitly exclude humanitarian negotiations. But physical presence alone is insufficient: participants must be authorized to conduct diplomacy on behalf of their governments.
The question is whether the commissioners encounter meets that definition. The exchange itself does not automatically establish a qualifying diplomatic meeting.
🇺🇦 Russia-Ukraine peace talks are gaining momentum on Polymarket. A truce remains a long shot.
The chance of talks by November 30 rose from 29% to 64% after the Kremlin said Putin had agreed “in principle” to resume negotiations after November 10.
Yet a ceasefire agreement by the same deadline is priced at just 13%. Disputes over territory and security guarantees remain major obstacles to turning renewed diplomacy into a deal.
🍎 Apple is just $30B behind Nvidia. Could it finish October as the world’s most valuable company?
Thursday’s moves brought Apple’s market cap to $5.08T versus Nvidia’s $5.11T as AI stocks sold off. Polymarket still favors Nvidia, giving Apple roughly a 30% chance of ending the month on top.
Our analyst argues that the iPhone Duo launch, demand ahead of November 2 earnings and investors shifting away from AI stocks could give Apple an opening.
Read our analysis of Apple’s challenge to Nvidia and the factors that could decide the month-end ranking.

🇷🇸 Serbia’s protests are growing. Polymarket still favors Vučić’s camp.
Ahead of the October 25 parliamentary election, his United Serbia list has a 70% chance of winning, versus 30% for the student-backed Students Win list.
Yet an October 20 poll put the students ahead: 44.5% support against 42.7% for Vučić’s Serbian Progressive Party.
Our analyst examines whether Serbia’s student-led movement can turn public support into an election victory against Vučić’s camp.

Polymarket has reportedly fired its CMO, Matthew Modabber, a longtime ally of CEO Shayne Coplan.
According to the New York Post, his departure follows an internal investigation that examined allegations involving staged trading videos on replica websites and undisclosed payments to influencers.
A source told the New York Post that Coplan initially opposed the firing but later agreed that Modabber’s departure was best for the company.
Polymarket declined to comment, and Modabber did not respond to the request.
NEW: Polymarket has fired its chief marketing officer, Matthew Modabber, who was closely allied with CEO Shayne Coplan, the New York Post reported.
This reportedly followed an internal investigation that started earlier this year after a series of incidents raised concerns among the company's investors.
🛢️ How far could WTI crude fall after reaching $100?
Last week, our analysis explored the case for $100 oil. With that level reached, our analyst now sees potential value in a pullback to $95 before October 31, an outcome Polymarket prices at roughly 55%.
@nmaithyak argument: the US-Iran truce could leave room for prices to ease even if negotiations remain stalled. He also sees the expected Fed pause on October 28 as a possible source of further downward pressure.
Read our analysis sees an opportunity in the $95 contract and the conditions behind that view.

Polymarket most active zero-fee markets in the past 24 hours.
🏀 Eight fee-free categories. NBA accounts for roughly 75% of the estimated fee savings.
On October 20, Polymarket waived taker fees across eight categories through October 31.
An independent tracker created by @0xd1namit has since recorded $44.5M in taker-side volume across 473K trades. At standard category rates, those trades would have incurred an estimated $753K in fees before rebates, including roughly $565K on NBA markets alone.
🇧🇷 Brazil’s runoff markets favor Bolsonaro, but not a blowout.
Polymarket gives Flávio Bolsonaro a 78% chance of winning the October 25 election. In the separate margin market, his victory by fewer than four percentage points is the leading outcome at 41%.
A new Quaest poll puts Bolsonaro at 45% and Lula at 44%, a gap within the survey’s margin of error. Markets favor a Bolsonaro victory, but the margin contracts suggest a competitive finish rather than a landslide.
Our analysis compares the winner odds, margin markets and latest polling ahead of Sunday’s runoff.

Introducing a website that tracks how much traders save in fees during zero-fee event on Polymarket
During the NFL + college football event, Polymarket covered around $3M in trading fees. So I decided to build a website that tracks these savings live for this event:
fees.144-172-89-200.sslip.io
The design is taken entirely from data(dot)polymarket
Date updates every 5 minutes
In less than 24 hours, Polymarket has already covered over $300k in fees
Anthropic could make its IPO filing public as soon as Friday, according to Yahoo Finance.
Anthropic IPO odds risen to 72% by November 30 and 88% by December 31.
🇮🇳 Polymarket X account is now withheld in India.
The account, which has more than 2 million followers globally, is unavailable to users in the country. X’s notice says it was withheld “in response to a legal demand.”
Access to Polymarket website was already blocked in India by May. The restriction now extends to its presence on X.
📊 Does 70% on a prediction market actually mean 70%?
A new study published in PNAS examined roughly one million resolved contracts across Polymarket, Kalshi, Manifold and Metaculus.
Overall, events assigned a 70% probability happened about 70% of the time. The pattern held broadly across platforms, topics and forecasting horizons, though researchers found systematic biases in areas including elections and conflicts.
A useful reminder when a favorite loses: a well-calibrated 70% forecast still leaves room for the other outcome to happen three times out of ten.
🚩 When Polymarket or Kalshi says there's a 70% chance something will happen, should we believe it?
Excited to share our new paper, just published in PNAS, in which we examined more than ONE MILLION forecasts from Polymarket, Kalshi, Manifold, and Metaculus, spanning 12 domains and forecasting horizons ranging from hours to years.
The main finding is striking: Prediction markets and collective forecasting platforms are remarkably well calibrated. When they assign events a 70% probability, those events really do happen about 70% of the time. And this pattern holds surprisingly well across different platforms, domains, and forecasting horizons.
But there's an important twist. When we looked more closely, we discovered systematic biases in some of the domains where forecasting matters most (wars, elections).
For decades, psychologists have documented how poorly humans often reason about probability and uncertainty. Our findings offer an encouraging counterpoint: When judgments and information are aggregated, we can achieve a surprisingly accurate understanding of an uncertain future.
That doesn't mean we can predict what will happen next with certainty. But it does mean that we can be remarkably good at estimating how uncertain the future really is.
This work was a great collaboration. The data for this project was meticulously collected for years by Justin Dickerson, the project was led by Hilla Shinitzky and Maayan Peer, with @mattansb leading the analyses.

🌍 Three elections, one 13% bet. Is this Polymarket combo being overlooked?
The contract needs Flávio Bolsonaro to win Brazil’s presidency, Benjamin Netanyahu to become Israel’s next PM, and Democrats to take the US Senate.
Bolsonaro is heavily favored in his standalone market. But this combo also depends on Israel’s coalition negotiations and the battle for Senate control. All three outcomes must align.
Our analysis explores whether this little-followed combo deserves more attention and what could derail it.
