Shannon Devine is running for the NDP in the Beaches-East York federal by-election and says that her campaign is receiving strong positive feedback from the residents in that riding. #ndp #canpoli

In the absence of an MP I reached out to our Beaches-East York MPP for clarity on the YTZ expansion, a critical issue for our riding.
I have yet to hear back.
We also haven’t heard anything further about this from the Liberal candidate.
Maybe hoping this will all blow over?

ALT “Definitely it would be (an election issue),” another woman stressed. “I wouldn’t vote for anyone who would be interested in expanding the airport. “I don’t like people speaking from two sides of their mouth,” she added, referring to Carney’s recent comments that have muddled the issue. “I like straight forward answers and I think people at the beach have made their will known. We don’t want the airport here and it’s not just for the residents of the beach, it’s for the whole city.”

Really enjoying watching @Progressivista cook the liberals repeatedly. They have nothing and the third candidate is really nice to be chatting about history to give everyone a break

It was amazing! Neighbours greeting each other, great food, Janet Davis, Marit Stiles, Avi Lewis, Chris Glover and standing ovations, laughter and cheering, buoyant No Jets, union and green talk and Shannon Devine's upbeat encouragement that our riding can be NDP again!

Once again @JillDunlop1 is nowhere to be found. Her most recent photo-op didn’t even seem to include her, just a giant banner with her photo on it. Where is the Minister when so many in Ontario are in need of support? What happened to Protect Ontario?

Senior economists are sounding the alarm on $billions in Liberal spending that is not accounted for - including tens of $billions in military spending and bitumen pipelines.

Economists sound the alarm about 'very concerning' lack of transparency on federal finances.

Send a message to the Liberals that you want to protect Toronto’s waterfront forever by voting for Shannon Devine in Beaches—East York. #NoJetsTO
Absolutely wild behaviour here from Minister @JillDunlop1, who was called out for being pretty MIA last week as wildfires forced Ontarians to flee their homes and covered our province in toxic smoke. Her staffer yanked her out of this @cbcasithappens interview ASAP. Yikes.
Wow.
Staff for Ontario’s emergency measures minister Jill Dunlop just audibly jumped in ON AIR and pulled her out of a CBC As It Happens interview on forest fire response.

Staff in the Premier's Office expensed $197,145.80 to Ontario taxpayers last year.
Strangely, it looks like Doug Ford himself is associated with, or submitted, $7,103.93 in expenses?
This party with our taxpayer money has to stop.

Parks are wonderful, but not if we can't breathe the air. Why won't our Minister of the Environment, Climate Change and Nature speak out against the Toronto Island airport expansion? @NoJetsTO
Minister of Education Paul Calandra, who placed Ontario school boards under supervision, claiming apparent financial mismanagment? Steve Clark, of the Greenbelt scandal?
These are the 2 @fordnation MPPs who got the ball rolling on $$ hotel stays funded by taxpayers. Wild.
NEW: In the summer of 2024, as PC MPPs began charging taxpayers for Toronto hotel stays, members of the Ford gov’t pushed to update expense rules for elected officials.
Specifically: to expand the “special circumstances” category to go beyond extreme weather events and include night sittings at Queen’s Park.
The very rules they’re now looking to eliminate.

This is absurd and a totally unacceptable abuse of power.
The Public Safety and Immigration Ministers must explain how this happened and issue an apology forthwith.
Richard Falk, 95, the former UN special rapporteur who spent years documenting Israeli abuses in the occupied territories, says he and his wife, legal scholar Hilal Elver, were detained and questioned for more than four hours at Toronto Pearson airport on Thursday, Al Jazeera reported.
A security officer told them, “We’ve detained you both because we’re concerned that you pose a national security threat to Canada,” Falk said. He adds that they were asked about their work on Israel, Gaza and genocide, calling the questioning part of a global push to “punish those who endeavour to tell the truth” about Israel’s war on Gaza.
