State surveillance meets citizen software. They removed the name plates. He built the recognition. This Gen Z innovator just did what the system refuses to: made accountability possible. While Delhi Police deploys facial recognition on protesters (and produces lists full of people who were literally in jail), and officers quietly drop their name plates to stay anonymous during crackdowns, a young developer built an open-source FRT tool that works the other way — identifying officers filmed brutalizing protesters, especially women. No name plate? No problem. The tool estimates matches from open data and public footage. Misconduct is not “fair,” and hiding behind a uniform doesn’t erase what cameras already captured. This is citizen technology flipping the surveillance script. When the state uses AI to watch the people, the people can use AI to watch back. Open-source means anyone can build on it, audit it, and improve it — no permission required. Respect to this kid. So proud of him. Accountability doesn’t need a badge. It needs tools and the will to use them. #PoliceAccountability #GenZ #FacialRecognition #DelhiPolice #RightToProtest #OpenSource

Are you going to arrest them @DelhiPolice? Or do you only arrest and brutalize the satyagrahis?
I take full responsibility for the violence. Hindu Raksha Dal chief Pinky Bhaiya says his group attacked Delhi protesters—and will continue. In an exclusive interview with Gyan Verma, who covers politics for Outlook, he explains why. #PinkyBhaiya #HinduRakshaDal #DelhiViolence #CJPProtests #OutlookIndia

We are giving the government 24 hours, as they had also given us a 24-hour window. These people have come all the way from the mountains because such a serious case, which should have resulted in a jail sentence, has instead been rewarded with a Governor’s post. We are giving the government 24 hours to revoke this appointment. Otherwise, the agitation will continue, and we will ensure that the daughter of the country, the daughter of Uttarakhand, gets justice. Dushyant has to resign."

.@AshutoshRanka and @SauravDassss have been sent to judicial custody for 5 days. For unfurling the National Flag at Jantar Mantar. The Government is so scared that they would jail citizens than have a dialogue with its own citizens. You cannot jail patriotism. You cannot criminalise dissent. And you cannot call this democracy while punishing people for exercising their freedom.

Well said @abhijeet_dipke 🙏🏽
When CJP was granted permission to protest, many were quick to float conspiracy theories that we were planted by the BJP. Yesterday, the INDIA bloc held a massive protest, but there was no crackdown like the one we witnessed on October 10. This is exactly how the govt plays us against each other. By treating different protests differently, they create suspicion and mistrust among people who are ultimately fighting for the same cause. My only request to everyone is to see through these tactics. Today, they may allow one protest and crush another. Tomorrow, they could reverse the roles. The idea is to keep us doubting each other instead of questioning those in power. Don’t let conspiracy theories divide us. Don’t fall into the trap of fighting among ourselves when we should be standing together. The fight is against Gyanesh Kumar and those protecting him. Don’t lose sight of that.

Manhandled, dragged, assaulted n misbehaved inside a police vehicle and dumped by the roadside - for the crime of speaking to the media. This is not merely an assault on an MP. It is an assault on democratic freedoms and the rule of law. More chillingly, it happened within hours of the Supreme Court issuing directions to safeguard peaceful protest and constitutional rights. I have written to the Hon’ble President of India @rashtrapatibhvn , the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha @VPIndia and the Chief Justice of India seeking urgent intervention and fixing accountability for the police personnel, and action on the question of parliamentary privilege. The Government cannot intimidate democracy into silence. It cannot substitute the force of the baton for the force of debate. And it shouldn’t expect the people to surrender their constitutional freedoms merely because those in power find dissent inconvenient. The strength of a democracy lies not in its capacity to suppress dissent, but in its ability to address it.
