On question 8 of Albertaβs referendum 58% of respondents voted that they do not want Canadian provincial governments to amend the constitution to opt out of federal programs ie healthcare, education and social services.
UCP has previously announced that they intended to leave the federal Canadian dental program by 2026.
The UCP also rejected participation in Canadaβs national pharmacare program.
Danielle Smith is already taking the liberty to interpret what individuals intended when they placed their referendum votes and is planning to pass a law requiring proof of citizenship at Albertaβs next provincial election.
Albertans now need to demand that Danielle Smith @ABDanielleSmith pass a law that Albertans can access all federal programs in healthcare, education, and social services.
Qualifying Albertans should be able to access the federal dental program as well as the national pharmacare program.

Itβs time for Canada and the EU to strengthen their ties around research, care and prevention for infectious diseases. New with excellent colleagues:

Good. Might be dawning on some Europeans that most of the populist parties who are wrapping themselves in the flag, are really more stalking horses for Russia.

BREAKING: Putin just lost another ally in Europe, and people are celebrating in the streets. Aleksandar Vucic, Serbiaβs authoritarian leader and close ally of Trump and Putin, has officially conceded defeat in a historic snap parliamentary election. The student-led opposition movement has won, ending more than a decade of Vucicβs grip on power. Voter turnout reached nearly 70%, the highest since the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1992.

Today, the people of Serbia turned out in record numbers to shape their countryβs future.
Congratulations to the Student List on its victory in the parliamentary elections.
We stand ready to support reforms on the rule of law, media freedom, the fight against corruption and strong democratic institutions, and to work together to advance Serbiaβs future in the European Union.

βThe greatest musical prodigy since the young Menuhinβ: thatβs how Karajan described the violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter. Catch them in this rendition of Vivaldiβs Summer, Presto from the Four Seasons at the Berlin Philharmonie's Kammermusiksaal.

The MAGA influencers weren't enough to save Putin's favorite candidate in the Serbian elections.
Vucic has just conceded.

Today, another Russian smear campaign is trying to pretend that Ukraine, or Zelenskyy personally, rejected a good "peace deal" in Istanbul in 2022.
βThe "peace plan" in question included strict limitations on the Ukrainian armed forces, rendering them harmless and defenseless. No alliances were allowed. It also included security guarantees, but with a funny kicker: Russia demanded that triggering these security guarantees required the unanimous agreement of all guarantor states, including Russia itself.
βIn other words, Ukraine was supposed to disarm almost completely, after which Russia could attack again and just block Ukraine from receiving any military aid. Comfy, right?
βThe "peace deal" proposed in Istanbul was, in fact, a "disarm and let Russia slaughter us" deal. The full details are public by now. Research it yourself and don't fall for the propaganda.

White nationalists just outside the BC Legislature this morning after a BC Cons supermajority.
This group is Loyalist Pioneers, a white nationalist organization virtually identical to Second Sons. They've been active around Victoria for about a year & a half.

Well Ford cut all our safe injection sites and now we have more drug use on the streets and parks etc than ever before!
You need healthcare for addictions

Good thing for BC that no other Canadian province has been completely fucked up by a conservative government. Iβm sure it will be fine.

Snowing hard on the Coquihalla at 11pm. Still Snowing on Vancouver's Mountains as low as 1,000m elevation too. Good chance Mt. Seymour above 1,200m elevation has close to 20cm of Snowfall on the ground by day break. It does not warm up either. Tuesday into Wednesday may see Snow falling even lower down on the Mountain. Then as we head into the end of next week, Vancouver may be flirting with its first freeze of the Season. Aka, Super El Nino or not, Winter is still coming! #bcstorm #shareyourweather
