This was harder than I thought it would be, but I finally did it.

opus 5.5 is great for exploring dozens of ui options at once to find the right one before going to figma
Who at Anthropic thought turning on idle compaction by default was a good idea?
It lobotomized several of my sessions after just an hour of inactivity
Today I almost successfully conducted an experiment in replacing me with Fable
Usually I run 4-6 fable sessions (before it was similar but with more friction on opus), each on its own part of the repo with me jumping from one to another. Last night I had around 30% spare Fable usage the night before the weekly reset and got an idea how to burn through the tokens.
I gave it basic info about the app and tips on how to choose what to do next.
The overnight setup replaced me with one top-level fable with the following recursion:
> picking what to build next
> spawning another Fable for that part of the app
> those spawning their own Opus subagents
Also two shell alarms: one for the 5hr usage window and the second one meant stop and write a morning report (there's probably a better way for this setup, but it was a random DIY Sunday test)
I checked on it in the middle of the night (yeah I know) and it had finished the full plan with explanatory docs attached 2 hours before the alarm, so I pointed it at the backlog and went back to sleep. 19 agents total by morning.
One thing this setup is unable to replicate is feeding the model live context when you're sitting in front of the terminal. On its own it doesn't always choose the right path at a crossroad, not precisely the bad one, it actually had great reasoning on every decision, but it's still the biggest chunk of the next-day manual work.
Soon I'll post the results

These guys are making a universal laser cut enclosure with a custom pcb for repurposed old cd-drives.

Blender is like using digital clay. AI is like asking someone who’s never seen a dog to make a dog out of clay.
You can’t teach AI taste when you don’t have one
We’re excited to introduce Taste Labs.
Our mission is to end AI slop. We’re building the data and infrastructure layer to give AI models and agents taste.
And today we’re coming out of stealth, announcing our $18.5M seed funding, co-led by @CRV and @AmplifyPartners
AI has nailed objective domains and made it easy to generate anything. But it still feels off. Now, the challenge is judgement. What fits, what feels like you, what’s GREAT. This requires turning a fuzzy, subjective domain into something we can measure and codify. We’re starting with design.
There are two sides to cracking this, the foundation model layer and the agent layer:
- We’ve already been working with the top frontier labs to evaluate and improve their models, crafting the right post-training data and RL environments.
- We’ve also been working with app-layer companies to build the context and verification tools for their agents to produce better, more on-brand, more creative outputs.
We want a future where AI feels right.
If you’re passionate about this mission, join us!
