60 Minutes obtained the names of 63 people on a deportation flight from Texas to West Africa. Of the 19 people we reached who were sent to Ghana, 17 say Ghana then transported them against their will to their home countries — places U.S. immigration judges had ruled they should not be returned to. A Department of Homeland Security lawyer told 60 Minutes he was not aware of cases in which Ghana had sent deportees home against their will. He also said he believes third-country removals have prevented crimes and made Americans safer. cbsn.ws/4yNhS4B

Tillis wrote at the end of his new book that he wouldn't vote for an Attorney General nominee if that person "played a role in setting up a fund to pay" people responsible for January 6. But he still voted for Todd Blanche. Full Interview: spectrumlocalnews.com/nc/cha… #ncpol Watch 👇

Asked by my colleague @ekoslof if payments to Camp Lejeune toxic water victims will be dependent on midterm results, Trump says if Republicans lose it makes it hard -- "maybe they won't get their money." --- Fact-Check: Who controls Congress doesn't impact payments for Camp Lejeune toxic water victims. Congress already passed legislation in 2022 letting victims seek compensation from the federal govt. The claims are with the federal Navy and DOJ, not Congress. Trump said Tuesday he will approve federal compensation for people exposed to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune if Republicans win the midterm elections. He then added, “if we don’t win there is no money.” Context is needed.... Full Story: spectrumlocalnews.com/nc/cha… #ncpol

This is literally just TV editing … but now it’s a scandal every day (the previous ownership of CBS settling Trump’s lawsuit has only emboldened the complainers, also)
NEW: That "60 Minutes" segment about election integrity... @HarmeetKDhillon just told me that she sat with Lesley Stahl for 30 minutes, and they only aired 90 seconds of the interview. Harmeet called Lesley a "liar" multiple times, none of which aired during the segment.

CONTEXT: 1. Congress passed bipartisan legislation to pay Lejeune victims 4+ years ago so who controls Congress has no role in the payments. It's the federal govt. 2. As of August less than 1% of 407,000 claims have been paid. 3. During that time numerous victims have died waiting: spectrumlocalnews.com/us/snp… 4. There is bipartisan legislation in Congress to speed up cases but it hasn't advanced. Federal judges are pushing for a settlement and the court date is next week: spectrumlocalnews.com/nc/cha… 5. The federal govt. estimates around a million people were exposed to toxic water at Lejeune from 1953-1987. 6. This is the second time this month Trump has threatened money in NC if Republicans don't win. He said the state wouldn't get Helene aid -- he said he was "kidding." @SpecNews1RDU #ncpol
Trump on Camp Lejeune water contamination claims: "If we win the House and Senate, I am directing the Department of Justice to settle all remaining legitimate claims as soon as possible ... if we don't win, there's no money."

I received this statement from Lejeune toxic water victims and longtime advocates Mike Partain and Jerry Ensminger: "Justice is not tied to political allegiance! The court trials start next week and will speak for us. Our service members and their families served the United States of America, not one political party or another. Our allegiance is to the constitution we swore an oath to defend. Jerry and I have have seen allies throughout this fight join us from both sides of the political aisle." #ncpol
