Is it free care? Or free personal care? They're very different, as my colleague Natasha points out over at another place: nuffieldtrust.org.uk/news-it…
Hi @SnapfishUK do you have a customer service email or contact please? Your chat function doesn’t work. #unhappy
The central question for the government now is whether it plans to learn from the history of #socialcare reform or repeat it. Reserving judgement until I’ve seen the detail 1/2 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c791…
As for the history, it’s all here if anyone’s interested 2/2
What can we learn from the failure of successive governments to sort out #socialcare? What are the lessons from other countries? What needs to be different this time? Still as timely & topical 21 months on. But I would say that wouldn’t I? policy.bristoluniversitypres…

Hi Charlie, sorry to hear that. You may know that most of our high-speed drivers and crew do not have Sunday in the working week, and we're reliant mostly on volunteer overtime. In recent years, all new drivers have a Sunday commitment, but it will take time or a change in terms and conditions before all drivers have that obligation.
Good morning @GWRHelp are you able to tell us which trains on your new timetable will be running today (London/SWales/Cotswolds) thank you
Yet with less than 24 hours to go you can’t tell us what trains will actually be running because of staff shortages. Not a great start.
❄️ Our new winter timetable starts this Sunday ❄️
ℹ️ Please check your regular journey before you travel at GWR.com/Check
➡️ Go to news.gwr.com/news/great-west… for more information on key timetable changes.

So why is your website showing the normal timetable? When can you tell us which trains will be running?

At Birmingham University yesterday a group came together focussed on ensuring that the proposed national care standards start from what matters to people who draw on social care. We invite contributions from others with this goal Thread👇 1/
Hi @WestMidRailway what on earth is happening on the Hereford to Birmingham services today? Of the few services still running, it’s a bus service from Worcester. Is that right?

"Any review must be used as an opportunity to promote reform to improve the lives of older people and disabled people, their families and care workers – not an excuse to postpone it."
Our analysis of 25 previous commissions, inquiries and white papers on social care reform underlines how little headway has been made over the past 3 decades.
In this long read, we draw 4 lessons for the new government to make lasting change.
