My young autistic son just said to me “You’re my best friend forever mummy”. Never thought we’d get to the point when I’d hear him say such a long sentence - after he was non-verbal for so long. I used to wish I could hear his voice and now he doesn’t stop talking. ❤️ #Autism

DEMOCRATS MUST DELIVER
Trumpism grew out of the failure of the Democratic Party to stand with working families. That cannot continue. At a time of unprecedented income and wealth inequality and declining faith in democracy, Democrats MUST deliver. No excuses.
- Medicare for All
- A $20-an-hour minimum wage
- The PRO Act
- A wealth tax on billionaires, which would pay for universal childcare, free public colleges and universities, and a massive housing program
- An AI data center moratorium
- Bringing ICE under control and comprehensive immigration reform
- REAL campaign finance reform

I used to be on the left but then I grew up, gained life experience, studied, and learned how the world works. Now I’m far left.

Sylvie Berki is still not allowed to talk about her encounter with Russell Brand, despite his convictions for rape & sexual assault. His lawyers got a judge to grant a lifelong injunction in 2014 that bans her from even telling her family what he did to her. How is this okay?

Late stage capitalism:
A supermarket throws perfectly good food in the dumpster, pays its workers so little they can barely afford groceries, then asks customers to donate to the food bank at checkout.
And we're supposed to admire how fucking efficient this system is.

If she reports immediately, she's accused of trying to ruin a famous man's career.
If she waits, she's accused of inventing it years later.
If she tells nobody, she's accused of having no corroboration.
If she tells friends, she's accused of spreading rumours.
If she continues working in the same industry, she's accused of not being sufficiently traumatised.
If she leaves the industry, she's accused of being bitter about her failed career.
If she liked the man, she's accused of regretting consensual sex.
And if she disliked him, she's accused of having a grudge.

One of the most disturbing things about the Russell Brand case is seeing how many people, including women, genuinely don’t seem to understand consent.
Agreeing to sex doesn’t mean agreeing to every sexual act. You can say no or withdraw consent at any point.
How are we still having to explain this in 2026?

Labour is not getting any better under Burnham. In fact it’s a lot worse. I was willing to give him a chance. Nationalising water would have been a start. Deproscribing Palestine Action? Anything? What a little conman. And the media go after Zack. Sickening.

Burnham really is a much more canny political operator than Starmer - and that poses a different set of challenges, maybe even threats, to progressive politics in the UK.
Starmer very publicly fronted Shabana Mahmood's hardline immigration reforms, which attracted huge criticism amongst his own MPs and Guardian types. His own unpopularity and the perception that he was embracing politics outside of the Labour tradition, drove a wave of anger in the centre-left media and amongst soft-left supporters.
Burnham, by comparison, has flown to a Commonwealth meeting and let Mahmood deliver her new proposals in Parliament, while it is subtly briefed that he got Mahmood to soften her lines.
He's not fronted the proposals, so doesn't get labelled as a hardliner - but can then present the new proposals to Reform-curious voters as a sign that Labour is listening to their 'legitimate concerns.' If he gets it right, he mollifies the soft-left in his Party, while having a policy he can use to outflank the Tories and Reform on his right.
It's very clever and well-handled, but it does mean, in effect, that Burnham has helped to stage manage immigration and asylum reforms that are far to the right of anything the Tories ever did.
This is going to be a consistent theme, one feels: Burnham much more skilfully using his own popularity and likeability to push through right-wing policies that, in normal circumstances, would be loudly opposed by Labour's progressive-leaning voters.
Imagine if the Tories had approved Jackdaw and these immigration reforms in the space of two weeks. The Guardian front-page would be on fire. Now? Pretty much crickets.

Ukraine has been chipping away at bot farms...and they timed it perfectly so Trump and Elon and co wouldn't have time to "fix" the damage done to their false social media support
The drop-off in bots was immediate and exposed things exactly when it was most important
A hero in every sense, that guy.
