Pupils with an EHCP more likely to be NEET than those without, a higher proportion of 16-17 year olds with EHCPs known to be NEET than nationally Very concerned in ESx @EastSussexCC @tinkerbellbites @hyorkston @NotFineinSchool @SEND_Action @PfA_tweets eastsussexjsna.org.uk/JsnaSi…

This what happens in a system designed by bureaucrats who have no idea about Disabled people's lives.

Maureen and Calvin deserve a level of support that will let them live free from pain and exhaustion. Sign Maureen's letter for COVID recovery funds and a better future for disabled children and families. 🖊️ Bit.ly/DCPLetter @RishiSunak @SteveBarclay @vickyford

Oh my god. Just look at this school punishing a child for their parents owing money - not just a 60 min lunch isolation but an inferior meal. Disgusting, humiliation, abuse!! ⬇️⬇️

Just spoken to the delegates at #SENDhelp21 talking about the nearly one million children who are barely coping in school and that these children are disproportionately those with SEND and on FSM.

"Ofsted said it is normal practice to delay publication so as not to influence the result of an election." Bollocks to that - of course people should know how things are being run to help them decide who to vote for.

Lots of speculation about why this fall, but here’s a thought. Maybe more parents are seeing the failings of our education system and choosing not to send their 4 yr olds in, at least not yet? theguardian.com/education/20…

What happens when you work hard to make a difference. Are parent carers heard as equal partners? 🧐 @SEND_Action @SteveBroach @contactfamilies @NNPCF @Sen_passionate @tinkerbellbites @MacCruse @CaptainK77 @janetwillicott @sos_sen @PDASociety @AdamWagner1
We're sad to say that our brilliant vice chair, Jo Nye, has made the decision to step down from her position at the forum. Jo has been the heart of ESPCF & works tirelessly for SEND families across East Sussex. We will miss her so much. Full statement: espcf.org.uk/espcf-statement…

Over and over again we are told the problems... We KNOW the problems. We LIVE the problems. 🙄 What we NEED are SOLUTIONS! #SENLawConf #SENDtwitterCommunity
Replying to @LGOmbudsman
#senlawconf Common problems in annual reviews include: inadequate notice of meetings, unclear meetings are actually annual reviews, failing to consider child/young persons wishes and feelings, failing to issue a decision following annual review (to engage appeal rights) etc

Who has to pay the price for this?? YOU, ME AND EVERY CHILD AND YOUNG PERSON WHO STANDS UP FOR WHAT THEY NEED. This is criminal yet it continues year after year!
Research from ⁦@SpcialNdsJungle⁩ and ⁦@CaptainK77⁩ showing councils have spent £200m on costs in last six years fighting parents of children with special educational needs at court only to lose 9.5/10 cases.

I am afraid evidence is mounting that teenagers & young 20s have increased susceptibility to new variant of Covid. Testing is not proven to slow new variant. It's clearer secondaries, colleges & unis must not return to face to face teaching except for vulnerable & few exceptions.

I caught the virus in school, my wife is currently really ill with the virus due to me catching it in school and then passing it on. Schools are major transmission centres fo the virus. Fox is an utter womble.

Still shocking to see such apparently blatantly indirectly discriminatory policies written down

Disgusted by what I am seeing today in London. This is what democracy looks like under the Tory Party.
Sorry not to be able to be there with @TheGreenParty colleagues, standing up for the right to peaceful protest This is what democracy looks like ... @ExtinctionR
