"Your call may be recorded to ensure high-quality service." I believe we've recorded quite a few customer service calls over the years. Can we get the high-quality service now? When does that start?

.@AmericanAir is a complete scam. I fly w/ them almost every week. The delays, cancellations and absolutely horrendous customer service are one thing, but the way they continue to place blame on me as a customer and charge more money when they mess up is insane. 👋🏼 @Delta

It’s astonishing how far customer service has fallen. What was once a core pillar of business—ensuring customers felt valued—has turned into endless chatbots, generic emails, and agents who barely comprehend the issue. You’re not even guaranteed to speak to a real person, and when you do, they’re often just reading a script, wasting your time instead of solving the problem. The system feels designed to wear you down until you give up. Yes, support costs money, but it also builds trust and loyalty. So when did it become acceptable to leave paying customers stranded? More importantly, when do we stop supporting companies that refuse to stand behind their products? At what point do we demand better—not just with our voices, but with our wallets?

Thank you for calling customer service. Please listen carefully to the following 27 options, none of which will be even remotely related to the reason for your call.

Instead of thanking you for calling, automated customer service lines should just be honest and greet you with “Welcome to hell.”
