Sounds like it was a labour of love from the devs for the fans. It's absolutely enraging that it all gone thrown away for the sake of some scumbags in the financial sector. Please go sign the petition, it's worth a try, even if it's slim. change.org/p/savemasseffect
Romain Toutain revealed more about Mass Effect 5/Universe (this one really stings):
✨"The Shepard" was customizable and could do same moves in real combat as trailer
✨Everything in game was "stateful"
✨All choices from 1-3 taken into account
✨Called Universe so you could plug your saves together to create parallel universes (simplified explanation) but you could almost generate timelines similar to Zero Time
✨You could make decisions that might contradict things you've already done and so it would create plot "points" in the timeline
✨Missions didn't fail because you killed someone, paths would remain open (it worked well)
✨Absolute autonomy was the cornerstone of the game
✨No two players would experience the same thing, would have "experienced the same story but differently"
✨"EA never sells anything. they just shut things down and sit on their licenses"
✨Barman was a new race
✨Lore was incredible around new mass relays
✨"Billy" the hand thing might have generated tentacles
✨Was an idea for sharing your saves
✨He says it was fucking amazing
it was an absolute banger and we would have loved it. The people at BioWare were brilliant
FUCK

Hasan Piker found out that Kat Blaque, a prominent Black trans YouTuber, made a statement about her opinion of him and accidentally referred to him as a "billionaire." Hasan doesn't mind. He's an ally:
"This person has been at the game for decades at this point. Do you know how fucking hard it is to be a Black trans woman on the internet for like two decades at this point? She can say whatever the fuck she wants about me."

🚨🇨🇦 THIS IS NOT A THIRD-WORLD COUNTRY. THIS IS TORONTO, CANADA.
These are pictures of the Gardiner Expressway, right in the heart of Canada’s largest city.
Look at the concrete. The cracks. The deterioration. The patchwork.
Millions of Canadians travel on infrastructure like this every day.
We somehow find billions for international commitments, grand announcements, political pet projects and endless promises to build a better tomorrow.
But what about maintaining the country we already built?
Canada is a G7 nation. Toronto is its financial capital.
Yet ordinary Canadians are left looking at infrastructure that raises serious questions about maintenance and public priorities.
And the irony?
We pay income taxes. Property taxes. Sales taxes. Fuel taxes. And taxes on practically everything else.
HOW MUCH MORE MUST CANADIANS PAY BEFORE BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE BECOMES A PRIORITY?
A country doesn’t become prosperous by announcing billion-dollar projects while neglecting what previous generations built.
You can’t build the future if you can’t maintain the present.
Welcome to Canada. Where the announcements are always brand new, but the concrete tells a different story. 🇨🇦

BioWare is an Edmonton-based video game studio that created acclaimed series like #MassEffect, Baldur’s Gate, and Dragon Age. Canada’s video game industry creates some of our most important cultural exports, and #BioWare was among our greatest success stories. (1/3)

The developers at BioWare know how to run their studio. They know how to make the games that fans love. They should be given the first opportunity – and the federal support – to buy it and run it themselves.
If you agree, sign the petition at the link in my bio! #SaveMassEffect

BioWare’s US parent company, EA, has decided to close the studio. These publishers buy developers, run them into the ground, and rip them apart for profit. There's a pattern of US companies buying Canadian businesses and shutting them down, costing Canadians their jobs. (2/3)

Honestly a great move because it costs MILLIONS of dollars per execution and most people on death row never actually are executed due to have long the process takes. They’ll just serve life sentences which most of them were going to do anyways. It’s still essentially a death sentence because none of them are getting out of prison. This will save the state millions of dollars. If this makes you angry you do not know how the death penalty really works. It is very rare for death row inmates to actually be executed nowadays. It’s a waste of resources and money. Plus it ends to risk of legal push back in the event an innocent person is executed which has happened many times in the past.

Hasan I saw Destiny's tweet when it first came up and it made me decide not to subscribe to your channel, thus causing you concrete material and emotional harm. I want to apologize for my error and will be happy to explain it in a court of law

Hasan, this Destiny tweet caused me to unsubscribe from your channel and cancel all of my monetary support for your channels. In addition, it caused me to advise my entire social network to do the same, & caused me to cancel any and all business dealings I had lined up for you.
Today I’m remembering the thousands of Sikhs who were murdered and displaced by the Indian state during the November 1984 Sikh Genocide.
The impact of that violence continues to be felt decades later by survivors and families still waiting for justice. Today, this is exacerbated by India’s transnational repression, including the murder of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil and death threats to over a dozen Canadians, including former NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh.
Our party will continue to recognize this painful episode for what it is: a genocide. And we will continue to call for a full investigation to honour those lost and bring justice to their families.

I am so pleased. You know why? Cause Ethan Klein is divorced and America is reunited in marriage.
