We actually need about 3X the number of votes she got to #RecallGondek.
Mayor is the toughest one…the “constituency” is the whole city.
For EVERYONE else, it’s just the riding. Even Premier, who is simply an MLA selected by her party to lead.
The “mayor process” needs repair.
I hope Gondek is scared shitless.
The process to recall her is actually ridiculous. We need twice as many signatures than the votes she got. By definition, she doesn't even have a majority mandate. Despite a crazy process, she could actually get recalled. Anyone with an ounce of self respect would resign.
Smith is talking about easier recall legislation, which I think is a great thing. We need strong recall laws, shorter terms and limits to the number of times a politician can run for office.

My response to the Mayor trying to incite fear. I will make sure all data collected is destroyed on my end.
They are the ones who should be afraid, not us. #recallgondek #truenorth

I'm old enough to remember when city planners told us Eau Claire was going to turn into a Calgarian version of Granville Island that would be enjoyed for generations.

I have yet to talk to any homeowner in Calgary that is for the blanket upzoning that #yyccc/admins want.
We don't need to build mindless communities for the benefit of inner city developers with no considerations to parking, mobility, space etc..
This needs to be a plebiscite.

Because it’s sophomoric stupidity for a mayor to do it. It’s not a “rebuke” it’s Gondek stamping her feet because she doesn’t like the content of the post. If she had an ounce of self awareness she’d realize it’s behaviour like this that prompted recall initiative. #yyccc

Calgarians should know who’s behind getting people elected.
“Calgary's Future received $1,708,826 in the years leading up to the 2021 election. There were six contributions, all from civic unions. Calgary's Future endorsed numerous candidates in the election, including Jyoti Gondek, as well as several now serving councillors”cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/p…

Thousands of Calgarians are signing up to recall Jytoi Gondek today and become a volunteer to get signatures.
It's a little unorganized, there are people at the front of the City Hall and at the back - the Library sign.
Calgarians are motivated and had enough.

How many buses did the climate crisis Mayor and supporting counsel order? Are they paying for it individually? I don’t want MY increased property tax paying for this waste of money!
