I think it's a bad change. I'm not even trying to sound like a sonamy shipper but Amy being in love with Sonic is literally a core part of her character.
Back in the classic Sonic days they had to tell their stories visually and Amy hugging Sonic with hearts is a dead giveaway.
SEGA removes Amy Rose's romantic feelings for Sonic from her Japanese character profile!
The official Japanese #Sonic Channel has updated Amy Rose's biography, removing all explicit references to her longtime crush on Sonic.
Her previous profile described her as a girl in love with Sonic who constantly chased him and even called herself his girlfriend, a character trait associated with Amy since her debut in 1993.
The new description takes a different approach, presenting her as an energetic, positive and courageous hedgehog who leads her friends and never backs down when they're in danger. It also highlights her Piko Piko Hammer and dedication to self-improvement.
Interestingly, Sonic is no longer mentioned anywhere in her main character description. The change has sparked discussion among fans, especially given how closely Amy's feelings for Sonic have been associated with her character for decades.
SEGA has not provided an official explanation for the rewrite.

Amy rose morreu.

I think it was part of Amy's character development to become more independent and confident in her own abilities, so removing her feelings towards Sonic as if it never existed undermines her progression as a character...

If anyone is still acting like removing any and all mention of Sonic from Amy’s bio is a good thing. Amy wasn’t “obsessed”, and she always was justified or had other things on mind besides being a Sonic simp like America kept claiming.

Cat & mouse was their game. "He ran from her." Bro didnt go that fast, Amy could always keep up. He allowed her to. Amy didnt just chase Sonic, she chased adventure.
Sonic & Amy have a beautiful, poetic, unspoken, romantic air to them. Amy deserves to be her full emotional self

One thing for Amy in Sonic Heartbeat that I think it's pretty important for me in the fangame is to bring her back to her 2000s roots, but still present an angle of that how her dynamic with Sonic as a girlfriend for him can work, the pitch we've wrote together is really fun
