The ordeal that @AshutoshRanka and @SauravDassss are going through should tell you that there is no judiciary, no rule of law, no constitution no nothing. They have destroyed everything India had fought for. Regardless of whether you agree with them or not, speak up for them because if they aren’t free you aren’t either.

Yes, the protestors are peaceful, but perhaps, their right to vote must also be enforced with the same sincerity by you? Let us hold the perpetrators responsible?
The right to protest must be protected, but so must the right of a city to function safely. Responsible policing is about balancing both. #DPUpdates #PublicSafetyOurPriority

Dear @DelhiPolice Fundamental rights don't expire by press briefings. The SC has held blanket Sec 163- type orders can't supress legitimate dissent. A peaceful protest against vote chori isn't a threat to public order, it's democracy doing its job. See you tomorrow!
#WATCH | On October 10 CJP protest, Delhi Police DCP Shrishti Pandey says, "Section 163 is in effect, meaning protests are not permitted—neither at Jantar Mantar nor anywhere else. Any gathering will be considered illegal, and we would be compelled to take necessary legal action against it. I would like to urge the protestors not to participate in such illegal gatherings. Please prioritise your own safety as well. Also, consider the safety of your family. Regarding protests that are illegal—there is a proper way to participate in the process. By joining an illegal protest, you could end up facing long-term legal consequences."

To the Home Minister, One of the largest deployments of central security agencies in the history of New Delhi against Indians demanding constitutional reforms is amongst your finest hours. C’est la vie.

ITBP is a force tasked primarily with guarding India’s borders. Why is a border-guarding force being deployed to handle protesters in the heart of Delhi? Today, I went to Jantar Mantar to cover a protest by AISA and other organisations demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The protest comes amid serious allegations and fresh reports concerning the Election Commission’s handling of SIR and electoral rolls. The Indian Express has reported that the two other Election Commissioners raised objections on several SIR-related decisions. ( indian express ) But what struck me at Jantar Mantar was seeing ITBP personnel deployed to manage a civilian protest.

If Gyanesh Kumar does not resign by tomorrow, CJP will begin its nationwide protest from Mumbai on 2 October, and take it to cities across India. This Gandhi Jayanti let’s pledge to save democracy.

After 3 decades of living in India, today was the first time I saw a taxi driver stop for a pedestrian to let him cross the road. Welcome to the future.

I’m thinking of Umar Khalid. I think of him everyday. I hope he knows he is wrong- he has not been forgotten. Countless like me keep him in our hearts and minds, we pray for him, fight for his freedom in whatever way we can. Umar Khalid walked so Gen Z could run. The battle to end his illegal imprisonment continues.

Dozens of students ended their lives, then thousands from around India reached Delhi peacefully demanding the education minister resigns. The Home Ministry sent a force to deal with the students as if they were the enemy. Hundreds injured. Our Prime Minister has nothing to say?

And to them, nothing is more important than you resigning. Considering the fact that you might randomly decide to arrest us all.
Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth! We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. Have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard. This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students. Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared.

now is the time to bring every struggle into the streets. if you’re protesting, bring placards for the issues that rarely get cameras or headlines too: manipur, bastar and the militarisation of adivasi lands, corporate land grabs and forest rights, ken–betwa displacement, data centres consuming land, water and power, dalit displacement, farmers and workers, political prisoners, state surveillance, india’s deepening ties with israel, anti-muslim and anti-dalit lynchings, kashmir and attacks on dissent. these struggles do not exist in isolation. bring their names. bring their placards. make the invisible struggles visible. because class consciousness must also be intersectional. our struggles cut across class, caste, religion, gender, region and community, and different people experience the might of the state and the bourgeoisie differently.

The Gurudwara and the Mosque in Central Delhi opened their gates for injured protesters. Why did the Hanuman Mandir in the vicinity shut its gates instead?
