I loved classic pso2 (it and xenoblade chronicles X back on the wii u are what made me realize i like scifi) on the jp servers (still played on jp even after ngs released because i wanted to keep all my cosmetics) but NGS just makes me sad how it turned out a huge fumble

to this day i cannot enjoy any other MMO because my palette was refined as a child with PSO
the systems are simple, combat easy to understand and engaging like a single player game. There aren't a million windows or UI to stumble through.
Communication quick and easy to understand when online
Lobbies fun to just chill in
Don't even get me started on the aesthetics. Perfect world building, perfect art direction, music, everything.
Even the character creation for how simple it is still lets you make a character that fits exactly you and doesn't feel restricting in the slightest.
I love PSO so much. PSU, PSO2 I could never get into. But I still love PSO so so much

It's ironic coming from me, but whenever someone talks about PSO like this I always think they're overselling the gameplay? It's remarkable for the time in an online setting. But outside of that it's aggressively middling and even bad in my opinion. (1/2)

Using a glitch to get a really big jump in the remake, its now possible to get the silver gauntlets chest as adult, which is supposed to be gotten as child. The cutscene that plays after tries to fit adult link into child link model, which ends up looking like this.
