Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. If there is no struggle, there is no progress.

Our case was interrupted over 100 times. The government was not interrupted once. I didn't hold high hopes for the British 'justice' system, but I did expect to at least have our case heard. No matter what, we will keep fighting for actual justice to prevail.
This is sabotage in PA case… Lawyer: “In Thales no there was no attempt to avoid arrest” You then see 3 of the judges one after the other making the same incorrect point about the black team evading arrest (in different incidents) despite the lawyer correcting them each time!

People don't want "to hold water companies to account", they want them nationalised to stop a third of their bills being drained away on private profits as a reward for extreme incompetence!
The privatisation of water has failed our communities. Household bills are set to rise by more than 40%, after years of underinvestment while shareholders and executives have continued to benefit. I've long called for elected Mayors to have greater powers to hold water companies to account, influence their operations and ensure money raised through fines goes back into the communities affected by sewage pollution. Through our new regional water council, we'll keep pushing for Yorkshire Water to put people first, protect our rivers and deliver a greener, more affordable future for West Yorkshire. 💧 gov.uk/government/news/commu…

Jon Stewart on Chuck Schumer: “Someone has to meet this moment. You have an opportunity to actually govern. One of the first things you need to do is remove that system of seniority from Democratic politics. It’s a bullshit system and it needs to go. Chuck Schumer fought tooth and nail against half of these fucking people. He does not understand the urgency of the moment and what the future demands”

Imperial tools have a habit of coming home. Fingerprinting was developed into a system of colonial control in British India before reaching Scotland Yard. Today, migrants provide the pretext for everything from ending our human rights to expanding facial recognition surveillance. Our class should recognise the danger. A state, increasingly dominated by the wealthy & corporate interest, handed greater powers over those with the fewest rights, will rarely stop there. Defending migrant rights is just as much about defending our own.

this was the catalyst. when the party bosses scoffed at bernie, he kept pushing. i saw these rallies firsthand. ppl were looking for answers to what had taken place in 24. bernie became the true leader of the party. his impact is felt w his rhetoric echoing through the most moderate campaigns this past year.
Hard to overstate the impact of the 2025 Fighting Oligarchy tour on Tuesday night’s results

MSNOW: What is your message now to Jewish voters nationally and what you will do to protect them? Abdul El-Sayed: I’m committed to Jewish safety, and we are united against discrimination. The U.S. spends billions to carry out genocide and apartheid against Palestinians. The genocide in Gaza with our complicity is continuing right now. Nobody wants to talk about that.

Spot on and the UK government needs to go much bigger to tackle the cost of living crisis if it wants to avoid a similar backlash. Also the public understands that it’s obscene for billionaire wealth to grow while most struggle to pay the bills. Tax the rich to cut bills now.
US midterms another demonstration that inflation is the monster that eats up governments, and it’s not going to go away. For as long as the main response to is still to put up interest rates, the political instability will continue.

every step of the way, bernie drove substantive stakes into the ground. he demanded changes in the 2016 platform. forced concessions through the 2020 task forces. he is never satisfied and he does not rest. and, most importantly, he’s right and he’s been right for a long time.

Hi Ben, this is a truly disgusting (and cowardly) tweet. So glad I have spent the past year turning down your repeated invites to appear on your show. For the record, this is a Jewish journalist interviewing the Jewish *author* of the IHRA antisemitism definition for Zeteo, and it is Stern himself who thinks it’s a mistake to use the IHRA definition in the way the government is. But since you can’t engage with the substance of any of this, you resort to smear by insinuation.
Zeteo quickly becoming what many suspected it would, and now going all out to campaign against changes designed to protect Jewish children from being abused in schools.

When you vilify, smear and demonise good people who refuse to let your hate define them, other good people don't stand by. They stand up and vote for hope over fear. Congratulations @AbdulElSayed 🎉

Aw. Gutted for Hugo's bosses. Really bad night for them. A repudiation of reactionary politics was never going to be welcomed at The Times.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I am so happy that Bernie Sanders is with us today to be able to see the fruits of his labor. He cultivated a whole generation of young leaders through the movement he spawned who are now winning seats everywhere. And he gets to live to witness it. Thank you, Bernie.
