Born completely deaf in his left ear and with partial hearing in his right, Omaha hockey goalie Will Lacelle has turned his hearing impairment into a source of inspiration for others.
Two Omaha families with young sons, Conor and Elliot, who also have hearing loss, read about Lacelle’s story, reached out, and met the Maverick goalie. 🥹

I never, ever saw this coming.
You may remember the letter I wrote to the Royals at the beginning of the season. Those were my words, in my voice—straight from my heart. I could never take credit for the masterpiece that came from them, but knowing they helped inspire something this powerful means more than I can put into words.
To be part of an Emmy-nominated story is an honor I’ll never take for granted. What started as a heartfelt message to my beloved Royals became something far bigger than I ever imagined.
