Absolutely incredible. I got the political bug after watching TX Gov.Ann Richards 1988 convention speech, and went on to work in politics for more than 3 decades. Never thought I'd see another D gov of TX, never mind the first Latina to hold the office. @GinaHinojosaTX outworked her opponent and earned every single vote -- all with less money & attention than other Ds. Pundits will be pointing to the national climate and Trump policies as the reason for this victory. But, the congratulations goes to Gina, @XochitlHinojosa and everyone who has been working for years in TX to make this happen.

It’s time to deliver change.
Let's pass an ethics bill.
Let's pass a bill raising the minimum wage.
Let's pass a healthcare bill that brings down costs for Americans.

Markets over noise.
For far too long, we’ve relied on polls, pundits, and experts to tell us what America thinks.
But the truth doesn’t belong to a select few.
It belongs to everyone.
Prediction markets put power in the hands of the people, turning millions of independent opinions into a collective view of the future.
No gatekeepers. No central authority deciding what’s true.
Just real people putting their conviction behind what they believe on a free market.
Because the best way to understand what America thinks isn’t to handpick a few voices and give them a megaphone.
It’s to let the market speak.

Medgar Evers was killed in his driveway because he refused to accept a Mississippi where some were denied the right to vote.
He stood with thousands who marched, organized and sacrificed so future generations could have a voice. We owe it to them not to take that right for granted. On Tuesday, honor their legacy. Vote.
.@NateSilver538 thinks you should be watching the prediction markets on election night.
“They hone in on the correct outcome, most of the time, faster than the decision desks do," he tells @semaforben and @maxwelltani.

Somebody looked at a parked bus and saw a battery. Now, Oakland’s school buses spend the evening sending power back to the grid, enough to power about 1,000 homes.
Creative solutions like these will always earn an A+ from us. 💯

If you weren’t rooting for the Brewers before, hard not to after reading this. Sal is a top player and even better human. Always thrilled to see an underdog finally win (I’m a Red Sox fan after all) but this makes it that much sweeter. Congrats to Sal and @Brewers
Sal Frelick is playing in the World Series for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Some of his best friends in the world are people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and he has been showing up for them since high school.
Here is how he describes them.
"I really do think they're angels."
Here is the whole thing.
Frelick grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts. In high school he was already friends with a lot of the students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Not as a project. Just friends in the hallway.
Then someone told him about Best Buddies, a nonprofit that pairs students with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
"I had just been friends with these kids in the hallways, so I was like, 'Sounds fun.'"
He joined. He went to their events. He went to their prom.
One of the friends he made back then is still one of his best friends today. Every offseason, back home near Boston, they go out to dinner.
His hometown runs a Unified Basketball league, where athletes with and without disabilities play on the same team. Frelick shows up to the big end of season event and brings shoes and sweatshirts for the players.
Then the Brewers made him a big leaguer, and he moved to Milwaukee. He said something felt off.
"When I was out here, it was almost like something was missing from my life in that aspect."
So he sent a message on Instagram to the local Best Buddies chapter and asked how he could help.
He started going to their events. Their Friendship Walk drew more than 1,000 people.
One of the chapter directors said this about him.
"He has a huge heart and compassion for the community we serve."
Then he found Inclusion Coffee Company in Hartland, Wisconsin, a shop where most of the staff are people with disabilities.
The owner explained why she opened it.
"My idea was to give our friends with disabilities a place to work after high school."
Frelick came in one Saturday morning before a game. Anybody could come get a coffee and take a picture with him. The money went to Best Buddies and the staff.
The owner asked fans for one thing. No autographs, please. Just come in, buy a coffee from the staff, and take a picture.
Here is the honest part. This was not a huge foundation or a million dollar check. It was an hour on a Saturday, a lot of dinners, and a lot of showing up.
But that is exactly the point, and he will tell you so himself.
"If you're around people with special needs or they're in the same environment as you, go up and talk to them."
Tonight he has a chance to win a World Series. Win or lose, he has already been showing up where it counts.

Yes, a bet and a trade often look similar.
But how they work is fundamentally different.
A sportsbook sets the odds and takes the other side of your bet. Prediction markets are markets, where buyers and sellers compete to discover and produce efficient prices and enable important public benefits.
What the market is about can change, but the structure doesn't.
My op-ed on prediction markets and regulation:

"Prediction markets reflect local knowledge of elections offered up not just by the politically knowledgeable and interested, but those willing to back their knowledge and viewpoints with their own money. Opinions are cheap, while knowledge backed by money is expensive. From money, crucial market signals emerge. Gambling this is not," writes @johntamny in @Forbes: forbes.com/sites/johntamny/2…

This is 100% true. If you know me, you've probably heard me complain about the early hours, the constant travel, the cost & pressure of my son's AAA hockey. You also know watching him play is one of the greatest joy of my life. I dread the day when I'm watching his "last" game..in hockey, baseball, or football.
"I’ve never played a single game of baseball. Not once. Never even threw, or caught, a baseball until I was in college. I have no personal connection to the game....For me, the joy of baseball has been walking with my little boy as he grew."

When a bag of candy feels like a splurge, something’s off in your economy.
However midterms shake out, leaders on both sides will have to answer for how we cut these creeping costs. Luckily, our org has more than a few suggestions.
The scariest thing Americans face this Halloween won’t be a haunted house, but the price tags in the candy aisle.
🚨NEW: We and @TCFdotorg found Halloween candy prices are up 15.3% – a staggering 4x overall inflation.

Prediction markets are already trading at record scale. The only question left is who manages them.
A single federal standard keeps this activity onshore, transparent, and accountable, instead of a scattered mix of state fights.

Tarek and Luana still have much to learn.
But amongst all the noise, they keep their heads down, carry a big chip on their shoulder, and work harder than they've worked on day 1. They also consistently choose to do the right thing, even if the world misunderstands it at first.
They are unwavering in their belief in prediction markets. The numbers are a lagging indicator. Their product velocity is the leading indicator.

So... Do you see the boy on a scooter?
That was a 16 year old son of my mother's nurse.
Nothing left of him.
That was this woman's only child.
I don't think I have much else to say.
Russians killed him and ripped this woman's heart out.
Trump assists Russia in this.
