I do challenge the advice about stockpiling Sauvignon blanc.
Surely better to stockpile a red - because if the power goes down, the white would be room temperature, which would be simply ghastly.

Excl: Labour’s energy policy is “batshit crazy” and the department overseeing net zero is “basically the ministry for P45s”, one of Britain’s most powerful union leaders has said.
In an interview with The Times, Gary Smith accused the government of relying on “sticking-plaster politics” while companies struggled with high energy costs and warned that rising energy bills would create a raft of fresh strikes across the public and private sector.
On Jackdaw and Rosebank he said: “If they do not do this, it will damage hugely the government’s credibility, and it will massively damage investment because that infrastructure, as I understand it, is ready to go — billions of investment. And if it does not now happen, who in their right mind is going to put money into this country?”

Fuel Prices: 2008 vs 2026.
So tell me — is this really all down to Trump and global oil prices, or are fuel companies and the UK Government taking us for a ride too? 🤔

When Labour say 'devolution', what they really mean is more politicians, higher taxes, and more interference in our lives.
They'll let mayors put our taxes up, but never cut them.
Taking more of people's money and calling it 'empowerment' is completely outrageous.
Let's have another Emergency Alert to tell everyone to go shopping.

The Home Secretary @ShabanaMahmood promised Asylum Housing will be spread fairly around the UK.
Poorer communities will no longer cary the burden, wealthier areas will have a share too.
Britain has always helped those claiming asylum, but it must be done fairly.

Great analysis of "alt protein"
Replying to @333peterobinson
But this is “unique” and allows people with absolutely no livestock husbandry skills or attachment to nature to build another enormous edifice to churn out splats of reconstituted protein from a stainless steel vessel, so we can carry on concreting over everything and allow the small areas of remaining countryside to become overgrown and catch fire every year. From a perspective of reinventing a wheel that already works, it’s a pretty fucked up version of progress. I’m not even sure people who don’t want to eat meat on ethical grounds want lamb flavoured splat…

Just because you want more, the market doesn't care.

All that is happening at the moment is that the market place is damming up the cheapest supply in the World. When the dam blows, don't be long because you'll be very upset.
Trading all this politics is a losing game, look after yourself and manage your risk accordingly.
