Oh Bridget, oh Bridget...
When Labour MP Mike Amesbury was caught on CCTV knocking a constituent to the pavement and punching him in the head, Bridget Phillipson went on television to defend him:
"Mike Amesbury is cooperating... it is right that the police now look into this matter and decide what action, if any, is required."
When sitting Labour MP Dan Norris was arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual offences against a girl, Bridget Phillipson demanded zero inquiries into who vetted him, never asked what Keir Starmer knew, and kept completely silent about Labour "drowning in sleaze."
Reform suspended this councillor immediately the moment charges were brought.
Spare the public the selective moral lecture from a Cabinet that covers for its own MPs while weaponising an active criminal case for partisan engagement.
Truly shocking.
Nigel Farage must urgently make clear whether he was aware of these appalling allegations. If he was, Farage must explain why Madgwick was allowed to stand and work as party staff.
Reform UK are drowning in sleaze and scandal.

Damage to a mosque. Right wing thug.
This is where trust breaks down.
🚨BREAKING🚨

No name as yet and of course he has been detained under the Mental Health Act.

Out-of-work tree surgeon Dean Bailey attended an appointment at Newcastle Job Centre. His meeting was with an Asian woman. He stated that he didn’t want to be seen by a “non-British person.”
His comments were deemed racist & magistrates fined Bailey £120 & ordered him to pay £80 compensation to his “victim,” £600 in costs, a £114 surcharge for his racist comments to an Asian employee at the Job Centre.
I’m sure an Asian person could request to see another Asian person. They get translators, all paid for by the taxpayer as well.
Basically, if you’re English, you’re a second-class citizen in your own country now.

Yes, you respect Jesus so much that you kill his people, behead them, force your sharia on them, run them over with cars and trucks on a Christmas Day, invade their churches and shoot them all, stone them to death, lynch them etc
Such great respect you have for him. 👍

You resigned in disgrace ten months ago, caught underpaying £40,000 in stamp duty on your £800,000 flat, found to have breached the Ministerial Code. You dealt your way back by backing Burnham, but notice what you didn't get. He made Louise Haigh his enforcer while you got your old Housing Secretary job back, demoted and diminished.
Now you prance about with jazz hands celebrating "historic new powers" for Sadiq Khan over nightclub licensing while the country cannot get GP appointments, cannot afford housing, and watches its communities transformed without consent. You are not a Deputy Prime Minister anymore. You are a cautionary tale with a reduced security pass, a disgraced tax-dodger rehabilitated by backroom bargain.
Your "comeback" is an insult to every honest taxpayer you short-changed. Go dance with your friend. The adults are watching, remembering, and preparing the invoice.
A pleasure to join my friend @MayorofLondon today to celebrate the beating heart of London’s nightlife.
We’re giving the Mayor historic new powers over licensing decisions to keep the capital buzzing, supporting jobs and growth. 🎷🎵

I think it’s clear…
UK politics is in the gutter.
In recent years, we’ve had MPs from Labour and the Tories in deeply warped sex scandals and also being convicted of paedophilia.
In recent years, we’ve had Labour and Tory councillors both convicted of paedophilia…
So today’s news of a Reform councillor facing allegations and being charged, is no surprise, but deeply concerning.

Why is Andy Burnham so concerned about other countries’ debt when our own is over £100,000 for every household?
Not a single penny of British taxpayers’ money should be spent on reparations.
British taxpayers’ money must not be spent on reparations.

The British Empire was the greatest work of human civilisation this world has ever seen. It outlawed the slave trade and then hunted it to extinction across every ocean on earth. It put the rule of law on six continents. It built the railway, the telegraph, the modern world. And when it left, India, Canada, Australia and fifty more kept the lot. That is not conquest. That is inheritance.
A quarter of the land on earth. A quarter of the people. Run from one wet island. Now ask what it did with that reach. Not what it took. What it built.
It built the law. Around a third of the world's people live under legal systems descended from English common law. The presumption of innocence. Trial by jury. A judge who can rule against the government and keep his job.
It built the machine age. The first intercity railway. The cable that joined Europe and America. By 1902 a telegraph ring circled the entire world, landing only on British soil.
It built the knowledge. Newton. Darwin. Faraday. Turing. Berners-Lee. The machine you are reading this on is, from the physics up, a British invention with foreign parts.
And it built a war on the slave trade. No great power had ever made war on the trade — until Britain did. Sixty years. Around 1,600 ships seized. Around 150,000 Africans freed. Around 2,000 British sailors dead doing it.
Then the thing that proves the case. Every empire before it ended in fire. This one chose to go — and the nations it freed kept the lot. The courts. The parliaments. The language. Then they formed a club with the country that had ruled them. Fifty-six members. Four of them were never British at all. Former French and Portuguese colonies asked to join.
Nobody applies to join the empire of a tyrant.
Was it perfect? No empire is. Fine. Now name the empire that did better. Name the one that bled for sixty years to end the slave trade. Name the one whose former subjects kept its courts. Name the one that packed up and went home.
There is one.
Nobody keeps the chains of a master. They keep the gifts of a builder. Fifty-six nations kept them. That is the verdict — and it was not ours. It was theirs.
Others apologise for our history. I tell it — properly, from the record, without the guilt. If that's what you want more of, stand with me: thestoicenglish.com/guardian…

Oh, fuck off with your 'fleeing war and persecution' bollocks.
Send every last one of them back.
The government’s proposed changes to Indefinite Leave to Remain could make some refugees wait up to 30 years before they can apply for settlement.
That means people who have fled war and persecution would have their status reviewed every 2.5 years for decades, living in constant precarity when they should be settling into their new home.
They would be vulnerable to any future government that deems their country “safe”, even if it isn’t, and sends them back.
These performatively cruel policies go against everything the Labour Party is meant to stand for. I urge the government to drop them.

🚨NEWS: Esther McVey demands compulsory halal and kosher meat labels as she warns millions of Brits are eating it without knowing
Esther McVey’s 10 Minute Rule Bill calling for mandatory labelling of all halal and kosher meat has progressed in the Commons so consumers know what they are buying.
She says people are served it without warning in takeaways hospitals and primary schools and accuses Labour of tiptoeing around the issue.

Good.
You don’t put a man with a public record of opposing mass migration and Islamist extremism into a high-security prison known for housing exactly those people unless you’re either incompetent or indifferent to what happens next.
His son has already flagged the threats.
This needs an immediate explanation.
