People are acting like the Cheesecake Factory is Cracker Barrel. You don't have to respect the Cheesecake Factory - it's really okay.
Many Americans enjoy the Cheesecake Factory but probably most of them don't think the White House should look like one. Whining about this makes people look so pathetic. Obama's not running for office this time.

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.

Former President Barack Obama criticized President Trump’s ongoing White House renovations, saying that it looks “like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory” as he returned to the campaign trail in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday to back the state’s Democratic candidates ahead of November’s midterm election.
“He should be on HGTV,” Obama said. “Guy’s building a ballroom that’s bigger than the White House.”
The ballroom construction project was announced officially in July 2025, and is expected to be finished before the end of Trump’s second term.
If it was another party besides the wishy washy Democrats, I'd be confident that they could exploit this issue to the hilt. It's there for the taking.
