I'm revisiting a subject I raised earlier this year, one involving Jeffrey Rath and reports of discussions about a potential $500 billion loan from the United States to support Alberta separation. There is a question I didn't address in my original post: Who arranged the meeting, and at what level of government were those arrangements known? I suspect the connections may reach into senior levels of the Alberta government, although that remains a question requiring answers, not an established fact. Then there is Pete Hoekstra, the U.S. Ambassador to Canada, and his acknowledgment of regular contact with Premier Danielle Smith or her office. These connections raise questions about who knew what, when they knew it, and whether anyone had the authority to make representations about Alberta's future resources or assets. With that in mind, here is my original post from January 10, 2026: "In simple terms, this is about misrepresentation. I can’t walk into a bank and borrow money by claiming I’ll control someone else’s property when that property isn’t for sale and I have no legal authority over it. In the U.S., repeated behavior like that can fall under racketeering. In Canada, it’s addressed as fraud. Different legal terms — same principle: you don’t get to promise or leverage what isn’t yours and expect others to rely on it." If discussions about a $500 billion credit arrangement really occurred, who initiated them, what assurances were offered, and what authority did anyone have to make those assurances?

A Storm in a Teacup: Why U.S. Election Blame Won't Shock Canada - According to insights from political strategist Scotty Greenwood and former Canadian Consul General Tom Clark, U.S. officials are boisterously claiming that Canada is meddling in their midterm elections. lol..ok, bud.. Let’s be entirely honest: Canadians see exactly what is happening here. This whole situation is bound to amount to absolutely NOTHING but a regular cycle of hot air, dramatic political posturing, and massive, exaggerated headlines designed to stir up cheap drama. It's a classic case of pointing fingers whenever local politics get a little too complicated or uncomfortable at home. And believe me, the Republicans are REALLY uncomfortable right now. Even IF American politicians decide to throw a few policy curveballs or trade threats our way, they are VASTLY underestimating the country north of them. Canadians are WAY more than resilient enough to handle a little political weather; we will firmly push back, leaving Washington wishing they hadn't started this shit show. 🇨🇦 Canada remains comfortably in control of its OWN destiny, watching the meltdown unfold with polite amusement. While some Americans like Trump try to recapture the spotlight with aggressive rhetoric, they are looking less like a political powerhouse and more like a fizzling spark on a rapidly changing political map. Go ahead and spark your headlines, Purple Hand, we will just keep quietly running the show, pal. You MAGA trash might want to turn down your Toby Keith Spotify playlists and learn some respect. 😌 #canpoli #cdnpoly #Canada #MAGA #TCOT #Republicans

Smith is evidently incapable of being honest. Albertans, we must start holding the UCP to account.
Hey Alberta: is this incompetence or a full on intentional lie? 9003 Acute Care Spaces is NOWHERE near a record number for our prov In the late 1980s we had 17,790 acute care spaces in hospitals (~12,000 acute care beds, +LTC beds) 1988: 7.4 beds/1000 2026: 1.5 beds/1000 1/2

WHO CHECKS GOVERNMENT POWER? Alberta’s Bill 14 deserves renewed attention—and a response from Ottawa. Passed in December 2025, the Justice Statutes Amendment Act removed important safeguards from Alberta’s citizen initiative process, including: • The requirement that initiative proposals not contravene specified Charter and Aboriginal and treaty rights provisions. • The Chief Electoral Officer’s power to refer questions to a court. It also provided for the termination of pending proceedings under that referral process. These changes did not remove the Constitution. They removed safeguards designed to test proposals against it. In the separation-reference case, Justice Feasby criticized legislation intended to circumvent an independent electoral officer’s valid court process. That should concern us regardless of how we vote. I believe Ottawa should pursue disallowance—the exceptional constitutional power to annul a provincial Act. Concerns about provoking a constitutional confrontation deserve consideration. So does the danger of allowing independent safeguards to be steadily weakened. Avoiding confrontation is not the same as protecting constitutional stability. Write to Justice Minister Sean Fraser at [email protected]. Ask him to recommend disallowance of Bill 14 and confirm the applicable deadline. The one-year window runs from federal receipt of the authentic Act; the exact date needs confirmation. Would you accept these changes from a government you oppose? Please share—and consider sending your own brief, respectful email. #Alberta #Bill14 #RuleOfLaw

A crisis reveals the difference between reacting and leading. Strong leaders resist the temptation to act simply to appear decisive. They assess the circumstances, establish priorities, and take deliberate action with a clear understanding of the consequences. Leadership during a crisis is not measured by how quickly someone responds, but by whether their decisions restore stability, protect people, and move the organization forward.

Populism is designed to stir hate and division. They have an agenda...they do not accept those who are different. They believe they are morally right and will ignore laws to push their beliefs. Attacking children is always troubling and shows how truly morally bankrupt populist are.

The underlying motive is for this government to yet again appease a small but vocal segment of their base (the fanatical home schooled evangicals) who are vocal and carry weight in rural Alberta and with the UCP. This party is damaging the people and the future of Alberta.

Fixed it for you Elon. What's actually going on in the United States is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich at the expense of hard working Americans.
Elon Musk spreads disinformation about Ukraine after being exposed for sabotaging military operations by the WSJ. The US tax funded billionaire, Trump's largest donor, (backed by Israel and Russia); tied to the deaths of thousands of children due to USAid cuts, blames Ukraine for not surrendering.

Why do albertans have to pay for COVID vaccine (with a few exceptions)? The medical system here can’t handle outbreaks!

This is a good statement by Carney. Meanwhile, the RW Influencers and Maple MAGA are fully ignoring, or even celebrating this support and assistance of a murderous dictator resulting in deaths of Ukrainians... Sick.

You can’t see how Indian doctors, nurses, engineers, tradespeople, entrepreneurs and taxpayers contribute to Canada? That’s quite an admission. Criticize immigration policy all you want. You seem to be confusing government policy failures with your “valuing’ people based on where they were born. Good post! What’s interesting of course is the continued oppression using the law as the vehicle, especially those against specific groups, whether indigenous or LGBTQ.
FLAG LAWS. @ABDanielleSmith it seems you are discriminating against certain groups of people. Your separatists flew swastika flags during the convoy, but you had no problem with that. Yet,First Nations flags can be flown INSIDE schools. These are human rights issues. We'll be analyzing these. If we find your actions do not align with the Constitution and Charter of Rights and Freedoms, we will file a motion in the King's Bench. "Mandatory Flags: School boards must fly the Canadian flag and the Alberta flag outside school buildings during the school year. Permitted on Specified Days: Certain flags—such as the Franco-Albertan flag, municipal/civic flags, and the Royal Union Flag—can only be flown on designated days or specific occasions. First Nations and Métis Flags: Treaty flags (First Nations, Métis Settlements General Council, and Métis settlements) can be displayed inside school buildings during official occasions, specific days (such as National Indigenous Peoples Day or Truth and Reconciliation Day), or when tied to approved curriculum. Restrictions: Flags used to advance a social, political, or ideological cause (including Pride flags) are restricted or prohibited unless specifically permitted through an exception or written request approved by the Ministry of Education and Childcare. Various legal experts, civil rights organizations, and advocates have raised the following key arguments: 1. Freedom of Expression as per section 2(b) of the Charter. The Issue: The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects the right to free expression. Critics argue that banning specific symbols, such as Pride flags, restricts a school community's right to express solidarity, identity, and shared values. The Counter-Argument: Proponents of the policy argue that public school infrastructure belongs to the state, and the government has the authority to maintain political neutrality on government-owned property. 2. Discrimination and Equality as per section 15 of the Charter⁷ • The Issue: Opponents argue the law disproportionately targets marginalized groups. By requiring ministerial approval for flags advancing "social or ideological causes" while explicitly singling out Pride flags in public discourse, critics argue it creates a hostile or unequal environment for queer youth. Impact on Safety: Human rights advocates emphasize that school environments have a legal duty to be safe and inclusive. They argue that removing visible symbols of welcome, like Pride flags, harms the well-being of vulnerable students. 3. Indigenous Rights and Reconciliation The Issue: Restricting the display of Treaty, First Nations, and Métis flags to specific "official occasions," approved curriculum events, or indoor spaces has drawn criticism. Advocates argue this undermines commitments to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action and fails to honor the equal status of Indigenous nations."

Trump calls Canada's ties with the EU a "hostile act" while waging a trade war and threatening our sovereignty. Real hostility is demanding loyalty while undermining our independence. Canada needs stronger global partnerships and less reliance on the U.S. We owe them nothing.
We owe the U.S. no loyalty while Trump treats our country like the enemy. Canada has every right to choose who we do business with. We don’t need anyone’s permission to build a stronger, more independent future. 🇨🇦 cultmtl.com/2026/10/trump-co…
