Truth is… the house doesn’t suffer because the men died. Especially in our generation. The real reason families suffer now is because of scavenging paternal families who swoop in and take everything, often leaving the widow with nothing to start back with. And I know this because my final year thesis in OAU was about it. The experiences of widows.
