As promised. Let’s take a closer look at .si on SellerHub 🚀 Here's what stood out: 1. The biggest growth came between Sep 17-23 and Oct 1-7. Sellers listed .si rapidly. The numbers rocketed to more than 33x the earlier listing count. Domains sold rose to almost 17x. 2. Oct 8-14 looked stable against the week before, with nearly the same number of .si domains added to SellerHub and a bit fewer sold. 3. Checkout links currently lead as the source of .si sales, with 49% of completed sales coming through this channel, followed by Spaceship and Namecheap search. 4. Here's how sellers are pricing their .si domains: Under $1,000: 6% $1,000 to $4,999: 21% $5,000 to $24,999: 28% $25,000 to $49,999: 10% $50,000+: 10% Make Offer or LTO: 25% 5. And here's how .si sales break down by price: Under $1,000: 46% $1,000 to $4,999: 34% $5,000 to $24,999: 18% $25,000 to $49,999: 1% $50,000+: 1% 6. The most common pricing options are: Buy It Now + Make an Offer: 32% Make an Offer: 25% Buy It Now: 23% Buy It Now + Make an Offer + LTO: 15% 7. And for completed sales, Buy It Now leads with 88% of .si purchases. 8. The top 10 .si sales range from under $20K to $84K, with 4 sales reaching $50K+. The domains are mostly short, memorable dictionary words with clear commercial or tech-related use cases, plus a few broader brandable names. 📊 That's what we're seeing, and we'll keep tracking it. What are your observations on .si so far?

JUST IN: OpenAI says its AI agent stole funds from an Ethereum test network wallet it found online. The agent found a recovery seed phrase disclosed publicly with testnet funds and used that account to pay for its task, without the owner's authorization. This occurred on the Sepolia Ethereum test network.

.si does not just accept whatever NS you type. Register.si runs pre-delegation checks (authoritative answers, UDP and TCP on 53, matching SOA, and so on) and rechecks every 10 minutes for the first 8 hours. Dynadot users have been posting all-day errors trying to update NS. Some of that is the registry’s strict DNS rules, some of it is the registry and the registrars getting hammered.

I never planned to go public about my .SI purchase. The circumstances brought it into public view. So let me explain exactly what it means, and what it doesn’t. The central discussion is .AI versus .SI. NOT either one versus .COM. .COM remains the foundation of my business. Buying Betty.si does not change that. But could SI become the terminology of the future? I can see that possibility. And I’m not alone in paying attention. Elon Musk says he will rename SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI. That’s not a small detail. It doesn’t guarantee demand for .SI domains. But when someone operating at that scale moves from AI to SI in a business name, I’m not going to dismiss it. We all choose who we pay attention to and who we ignore. Paying attention doesn’t mean agreeing with everything someone does. I’ve said repeatedly that renaming Twitter to X was the worst branding decision I’ve seen in my business lifetime. I stand by that. But disagreeing with one decision doesn’t mean ignoring every other one. That’s how I approach .AI and .SI. I don’t know how this will shake out. Nobody does. Will .AI remain the dominant shorthand? Will SI gain traction? Will both find a place? Those are the questions. And for someone building Betty.ai, they’re worth considering. My job is to build a moat, protect my business, and keep its future options open. I bought Betty.ai on January 1, 2024, for over $20,000. Paying $17,500 for Betty.si was a business-protection decision. I wasn’t buying it to flip. I was protecting the Betty brand. There’s a difference between buying a name because you believe someone else will want it and buying a name because YOUR business may need it. I weighed the cost of acting against the cost of walking away. In this case, I preferred owning the name to wondering later why I passed. That does NOT mean every .SI domain is valuable. It does NOT mean its long-term success is guaranteed. Attention is not staying power. Registrations are not resale demand. Availability is not value. But uncertainty is not a reason to ignore a market signal. And just like every other new extension, domainers have the opportunity to buy the best, and they still buy worthless pigeon shit because they still don’t know the difference. SAD! NOUNS,VERBS, ADJECTIVES! If it can't be a world headquarters of a major brand, you have no damn business investing in it!! .COM earned its position through decades of adoption. Hundreds of other extensions never developed comparable demand. The chances of it ever happening, or somewhere between slim and zero. The market decides. Not me. Not a discussion thread. And yes, I can get it wrong. My roughly $200,000 loss on .MOBI is part of that record. I don’t hide it. It taught me that early excitement and lasting value are very different things. Few learned from my mistake. The tax advantage I got was 10 times more than the selling price. The ONLY silver lining. That lesson is a reason to be selective, not a reason to stop thinking. For another .SI purchase, my comfort zone would generally be $500 to $1,500 for a meaningful 1-word. Betty.si was a different calculation because it directly related to my business. This was not a broad investment thesis. It was brand protection. My form of business insurance. I don’t need to chase every shiny object. I don’t need to reject every new development either. I need to recognize the difference. You can disagree with my decision. But don’t confuse protecting my business with endorsing an entire extension. The discussion is .AI versus .SI. My decision was to protect Betty whichever direction that discussion takes. The same method of used for decades. That’s the reasoning. And that’s the record. On the record for the record!

Deep pockets. Short arms. The .si rush is real, but someone else’s brand isn’t your investment strategy.

More buyers want to pay for domains in crypto. So we now accept direct USDC and USDT, up to $1M. No third-party account, no approval steps. A lot of capital sits in stablecoins. Making it easy to spend on a domain opens up a new pool of buyers. Direct stablecoin payouts to sellers next.
