When Christians are killed in Nigeria, Washington threatens sanctions. When Orthodox Christians are massacred in Ethiopia and their churches burn, Washington says nothing, because the Prime Minister is an ally. Selective outrage is complicity. @USEmbassyAddis @Jawar_Mohammed

Ms. Ingraham, I am deeply grateful for highlighting this. The structural violence against Ethiopian Orthodox Christians, heirs to one of the oldest Christian traditions in existence, deserves far greater international attention. Ethiopia, the world's second oldest Christian nation, has preserved extraordinary treasures of Christian civilization, including the Book of Enoch and the Book of Jubilees. What is at stake is not merely religious persecution but the danger of civilizational erasure. At the very centre of this tragedy stands Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, whose government I believe bears responsibility for the systematic assault on this ancient Christian heritage. I am equally concerned about his government's relationship with the United Arab Emirates and what I regard as its role as a UAE proxy. The silence of those who profess to defend human rights and religious freedom is profoundly disturbing.
Where are the condemnations from entertainers, social media influencers, and Democrats so-called civil rights warriors?

AMERICAN ETHIOPIAN PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE (AEPAC) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CALL FOR URGENT U.S. DIPLOMATIC ACTION ON THE KILLINGS OF CHRISTIAN CIVILIANS AND CLERGY IN ETHIOPIA The American Ethiopian Public Affairs Committee (AEPAC) expresses its profound alarm over continued reports of the killings and abductions of Christian civilians and attacks affecting clergy in Shirka and Honkolo Wabe districts of Arsi Zone, eastern Ethiopia, approximately 170 kilometers from Addis Ababa. According to the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church's report, the latest incidents occurred on October 17, 2026 (Tikimt 7, 2019 E.C.) . These recurring incidents underscore the urgent need for effective civilian protection, credible investigations, and decisive action to prevent further loss of life. The Ethiopian government has a fundamental responsibility to protect its citizens, safeguard religious communities and places of worship, and ensure that those responsible for criminal acts are held accountable. These tragedies must not become normalized, and the suffering of affected communities must not be met with indifference. We specifically call on U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to recognize that responding to these reports is both a moral imperative and a serious diplomatic responsibility. The defense of human dignity, religious freedom, and the right to life cannot be limited to declarations of principle. When Christian civilians and clergy face recurring violence, principled leadership requires timely and meaningful engagement. We urge Secretary Rubio to publicly address the reported killings, direct the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa to raise these concerns urgently with Ethiopian authorities, and press for concrete measures to protect Christian civilians and clergy, secure the release of abducted persons, conduct credible and impartial investigations, and hold perpetrators accountable under the law. We are also deeply troubled by the lack of a forceful response from Western diplomatic missions, the African Union, and the United Nations. Their silence in the face of recurring reports of deadly violence is difficult to reconcile with their stated commitments to human rights, religious freedom, civilian protection, and the prevention of atrocities. International engagement must come before a crisis becomes irreversible—not after a nation has been devastated by violence that timely action might have helped prevent. We therefore call on the United States and the wider international community to move beyond expressions of concern and pursue sustained diplomatic engagement, measurable civilian-protection commitments, and accountability. The Ethiopian government must be pressed to fulfill its responsibility to protect all citizens, regardless of religious or ethnic identity. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and express our solidarity with the injured, those reportedly abducted, affected clergy, displaced households, and all communities living under the threat of violence. As an organization committed to strengthening U.S.–Ethiopia relations, we believe that defending human life, protecting religious freedom, and upholding human dignity are essential to our shared values and a lasting bilateral partnership. The people of Ethiopia, especially Christians living in Arsi Zone, deserve protection, justice, and peace. The people of Ethiopia deserve a future free from recurring violence and fear. The time for meaningful action is now. 👇🔗🔗 t.me/eotctvchannel/10183 @WhiteHouse @StateDept @USEmbassyAddis @UAEthio @UNOSAPG @VP @realDonaldTrump @TheIRD, @StateDRL, @AsstSecStateAF, @richghazal, @markdtooley, @OrthodoxyNews, @USEmbassyAddis @indefchristians, @RepJohnJames, @housegop, @Repsarajacobs, @YoungKimCA, @RepJimBaird, @CongressmanKean, @RepMillsPress, @RepGaramendi, @jakejsullivan, @IMFNews, @StateDept, @JusticeOfficeUS, @WorldBank, @WorldBankAfrica, @StateIRF, @USCIRF, @IrfSecretariat, @Sean_ADFIntl, @michaelgwaltz,@RepMarkWalker,@RepRileyMoore,@TomColeOk04,@HouseAppropsGOP,@LaurenBinDC,@SecRubio

News: #Holy_Synod confirms 60 #Orthodox faithful killed in latest attacks in #Oromia, calls for protection, justice “We have heard with deep sorrow the report submitted by the Diocese Office,” the Holy Synod said, describing the killings as “extremely tragic cruelty and suffering inflicted on our citizens.” The Synod said the victims were innocent Orthodox faithful and warned that killings, displacement, physical harm and destruction of property targeting Orthodox Christians in Arsi and other parts of Ethiopia had continued to escalate. It also called on government institutions to publicly condemn the killings, protect civilians and ensure that those responsible were brought to justice. addisstandard.com/?p=60619

Read #Addis_Standard’s editorial, “Break this chain of attacks”, from June 2026. *** The most compelling evidence comes from the Patriarch of the Ethiopian #Orthodox Tewahedo Church himself. In responding to the attacks, Abba Mathias did not speak of a one-off incident. He appealed to authorities to “break this chain of attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice.” A chain. Not an episode. For years, this publication has reported on recurring killings, displacement, church burnings, property destruction, and targeted attacks in East Arsi. Religious leaders have warned about it. Community members have warned about it. Survivors have warned about it. Yet the violence continues. The obvious question is: why? The answer lies in the complete absence of accountability. addisstandard.com/?p=57692

Very serious concerns over reported attack on Christians in which, as reported by @BBCBreaking, “more than 60 people have been killed in a series of attacks on Christians in Ethiopia's Oromia region, according to the country's Orthodox Church.” In a statement posted on Facebook, our sister Ethiopian Orthodox Church said that “it had repeatedly raised concerns about insecurity with authorities at different levels of government, but that ‘so far there has been no solution’". We pray propose for the departed, comfort for the bereaved, healing for the injured and traumatised, peace upon the region and the nation, and wisdom for those who lead. @Refcemi

News: At least 48 civilians killed in weekend attacks in #Ethiopia’s #Oromia region, once again The attacks began on Saturday, 24 October evening, and continued into Sunday morning, 25 October, according to residents who spoke to #Addis_Standard. They said the victims included women, elderly people and at least six children under the age of 15, with many of those killed reportedly followers of the Ethiopian #Orthodox Tewahedo Church. “Armed men were going door to door shooting and stabbing civilians,” one resident said, describing how local residents who had organized nighttime neighborhood watches were overwhelmed by heavily armed attackers carrying AK-47 rifles and other weapons. addisstandard.com/?p=60591

URGENT: Targeted attacks against civilian Christian communities in Ethiopia’s Arsi zone continue to be downplayed while innocent lives are lost. Silence equals impunity. We are calling on @StateDept, @USCIRF, @HouseForeign, @SenateForeign, @SecRubio, @USEmbassyAddis, @realDonaldTrump to take immediate action: - Impose the Global Magnitsky act on perpetrators and complicit officials. - Demand accountability for human rights violations in Arsi. - Protect international religious freedom. #ProtectArsiChristians #EthiopiaHumanRights

In 1945, Ethiopia signed the UN Charter as a founding member of the United Nations. Once regarded as an anchor of peace and stability in Africa, the nation now stands on the brink, divided and at war with itself. Yet Ethiopia shall prevail. @antonioguterres @JDMahama @ymahmoudali
