Only 4 India-core deep-tech firms have hit or entered talks for $100M+ single funding rounds as of 2026. Two have US Delaware parents and two have Indian parent companies. The breakdown across the four startups 🧵👇.

India's private space startups are now building their own rocket engine test stands. Here are the 6 I've mapped across Astrobase, EtherealX and Agnikul, with thrust ratings, purpose and status, plus one honorable mention 🧵👇

The launch crisis will be won by whoever reaches #orbit first—not whoever plans the biggest rocket. @arstechnica confirmed the shortage is worse than expected. Supply is tightening. Demand keeps rising. This squeeze will last years. That’s why @CosmicportSpace is starting small. We’re flying #methalox vehicles first to prove the engine, the stage, and the operations in actual flight. Small doesn’t mean #limited. It means we de-risk fast so we can scale #harder and #sooner. Methalox is the foundation: Clean, reusable, and scalable from small vehicles into larger stages. The same propellant then supports the real future — orbital depots, space stations, reusable spaceplanes, and eventually in-situ propellant production. The goal isn’t one impressive launch. It’s #cadence. The teams that earn #flight heritage earliest will control capacity when it becomes the scarcest resource. That’s the path we’re on. Visuals: @Liwaans

HONORABLE MENTION | EtherealX Base 001 (Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu) • Earlier engine-development site; layout renders show a test stand zone • Thrust rating and test schedule: not public From 12 kN to 2 MN, India's private test stands are scaling fast 🚀🇮🇳
