Welcome to the Leeds branch of the Women's Rights Network.
We stand for women’s sex-based rights, safeguarding, freedom of speech and women-only spaces. Follow for local action, events and campaigning — and join us in speaking up.

When elected politicians (who should know better) label those speaking about their legal sex-based rights 'bigots' or 'fascists', they give licence to abusive and aggressive individuals, who then believe that threatening women, silencing or abusing them is entirely justified.
We invite @Plaid_Cymru MS Keira Marshall to reflect on her hyperbolic and irresponsible language. Violence against women and girls happens to all women, not just to the ones she approves of.

Today on the streets of Carmarthen, women were called ‘fascists’ and made to fear for their physical safety, during a discussion on women’s and girls' legal rights to single-sex spaces.
Note: Unsurprisingly, the overwhelming majority of people spoken to today were fully supportive of us.

Politicians in the Senedd sometimes seem to be far removed from the general public, but their irresponsible and inflammatory rhetoric can spill out of the Cardiff bubble and into the real world where women standing up for their lawful rights are threatened and abused.
We call on them to have more responsibility for their language, and higher standards of behaviour.

The cases we know of are just the tip of the iceberg for this very 21st Century crime. And there is still no coordinated effort to really deal with this sickening male violence towards women - the cases we know of are in the main 'stumbled over' rather than uncovered as the result of a determined effort to stamp them out. It's just not nearly good enough.
WRN fully supports the courageous women that have had to endure appalling abuse, and now criminal trials. We thank those women who showed their solidarity by attending at court to support them.
These men live among all of us - they, and all those who facilitate this, must be brought to justice, shamed for their behaviour, and sentenced severely. Lock them all up and throw away the key. #ShameMustChangeSides

.@Artemispat2 reports on the vigils supporting victims of rape networks.
Rose Reeve from Northern Radfems has been present outside Manchester Crown Court every week since the hearing began:
“Whenever I hear about a case like this, my thoughts go immediately to the woman and the unimaginable trauma she is going through. That’s why I stand with the other women outside the court, to show support and solidarity to her.”

“We will not be frightened into silence.”
A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to murder the Darlington nurses and “whoever doesn’t support trans rights”.
The email identified Darlington Memorial Hospital and included an image of a large knife.
Three nurses had to be escorted from their workplace by security, and all seven have remained unable to return to work.
Despite the seriousness of the threat, police forces spent days passing responsibility between one another.
North Yorkshire Police acted only after media intervention.
Bethany Hutchison, President of the Darlington Nursing Union, said:
“We are relieved but deeply shocked that the police took so long to take action on this, and only did after the media contacted them.
“This is not merely offensive online abuse. It is a specific and terrifying threat against a group of identifiable women at a named location which included an image of a large knife. Three of our nurses had to be escorted from their workplace by security, and seven nurses have been unable to return to their jobs.
“We reported the threat immediately and supplied the police with the correspondence. Yet days later, we were left facing uncertainty while police forces passed responsibility between one another.
"Other police forces must take note, especially as White Ribbon Day approaches, and many of these forces have firm commitments to ending violence against women and girls. Protecting us needs to be more than a slogan.
“The apparent trigger for this abuse was that we thanked J.K. Rowling for supporting us after our successful campaign for lawful single-sex changing facilities. Whatever a person’s beliefs, threatening to murder women because they uphold biological reality is utterly unacceptable.
“We will not be frightened into silence. We fought for three years for dignity, privacy and safety at work, and we will not surrender those principles to intimidation or violence.
“To women watching this unfold, our message is simple: stand together, speak the truth and do not allow threats to drive you out of public life. We remain unbowed.”
The suspect has been released on bail with conditions prohibiting him from approaching the hospital or the nurses.
The investigation continues.

RUSSELL BRAND GUILTY OF RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULTS
A man whose celebrity status supercharged his sexually predatory behaviour.
A man who appeared to not care about consent.
A man who has now been exposed, brought to justice and found guilty - thanks to the bravery of several women.
We applaud their courage and wish them well.

Stonewall's grubby finger prints are all over the tyrannical conversion bill. The fact they still enjoy government access despite consistently misrepresenting the law and pushing for mad gender nonsense is frankly appalling.

Crystal clear explanation from WRN’s Ellie Evans on the dangers of the new Conversion Practices Bill to anyone who questions children who think they are ‘trans’.
Parents who tell children they will likely ‘grow out’ of their gender confusion could be reported to the police, even jailed.
Thank you @PatrickChristys for inviting us on the show. This is a dangerous Bill.

📢 CALL TO ACTION. NHS ENGLAND MUST ANSWER FOR ITS FAILURES. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD.
Following today’s publication of its single-sex guidance, you can submit a question directly to the NHS England Board.
This is your opportunity to demand answers about women’s rights, unlawful policies and the treatment of staff who spoke out.
📅 Next Board meeting: 27 November 2026
✉️ Submit a question (up to 100 words) to [email protected] by 12 noon on 17 November.
Ask them:
▪️ What are the deadlines for implementation?
▪️ How will NHS trusts be held accountable for compliance?
▪️ Will data collection reflect biological sex?
▪️ Will the NHS restore accurate language for women and stop calling women “people with a cervix”?
▪️ Will pregnant women no longer be asked how they identify? Will the NHS stop asking men if they could be pregnant?
▪️ Will staff be free to raise concerns about single-sex spaces without bullying or punishment?
▪️ Will staff and patients who suffered discrimination and harm receive an apology?
▪️ Who will be held accountable for years of unlawful policies and the bullying of staff who dared to speak out?
Publication is not implementation. Guidance is not accountability.
NHS England must not be allowed to quietly move on without answering for its failures.
✊ Submit your question. Demand answers. Demand action. Demand accountability.

⏰️ Today marks 7 days since NHS England published it's Privacy, dignity and safety in hospital accommodation and NHS staff facilities guidance
📢SEEN in Health members are still reporting near-silence from their organisations, except from Unions opposing the implementation of the law.
⁉️ still no apologies or offer of support for staff silenced & disciplined for raising their head above the parapet & pointing out unlawful mixed-sex policies in their workplace.
⚠️ Still no clarity on responsibilities or timelines for legal compliance of patient accommodation or staff facilities.
📰 Local communication strategies, woefully slow to acknowledge the changes required to meet legal compliance within organisations
⚖️ NHS staff need to know the policies & guidelines that have been in place and enforced for years are unlawful and are a safeguarding risk.
🚨 Senior management and boards must be held to account for continuing to not inform staff of the risk of following unlawful policies & guidelines

I spoke to several parents who’d encountered this teacher as part of my recent Telegraph investigation. I think his photo may have done the rounds on X before.
He identified as ‘non-binary’, I'm told - and pupils were instructed to address him as 'Mx.' Parents said he ran a lunchtime LGBT club for primary school pupils.
“We all call him the man in the dress,” one pupil told a mother.
I don’t think this is an appropriate way for a male primary school teacher to present himself at work.
And if parents have questions about what’s happening at their child’s school, they should feel able to ask them. The parents I spoke to were afraid to do even that.

Bayswater parents come from all across the political spectrum and we are tired of our children being used as pawns for point-scoring between different parties.
We reject the suggestion that when a child spirals into distress and rejects their own body that is simply "who they are" and not "something to be fixed".
There are significant problems with the draft bill that need acknowledging and addressing. That is our focus, and it should be the government's focus too.

Labour’s trans law is a disaster for young girls @suzanne_moore in @Telegraph
"...NHS England is spending £6.5m a year on “trans mastectomies”: the cutting off of the healthy breast tissue of women who identify as men. There has been a 52 per cent increase in these operations since 2023.
This is obscene. And so is this bill. It is clear that most Labour MPs do not understand it, as it fundamentally brings the state into family life in a way that no one is asking for. It is both authoritarian and unworkable." 🎯

I strongly oppose the Draft Conversion Practices Bill.
It is a dangerous, appallingly drafted piece of legislation that criminalises parents who just want to do the right thing by their child.
It is Orwellian in its state over-reach into private family life, and it is as unnecessary as it is dangerous. It also captures teachers, medical practitioners and faith organisations in its vice-like ideological grip. There are already strong and well used protections in existing laws to safeguard vulnerable children.
We do not need this niche hobby-horse of the left wing lobby, who are determined to secure Gender Self-ID by any means necessary.
I will work cross-party with anyone who wants to stop this Bill reaching the statute book.
