8.35am Hi Director or Producer of @abcnews How come we can’t hear all of what our PM has to say, you cut the presser short but when Angus Taylor or Barnaby Joyce are speaking we get the whole word fest? Just once I would love an answer to my genuine question

For the economic illiterates out there, here's the maths.
Tobacco makes up 1.87% of the CPI basket.
Based on ABS data, the price of illegal ciggies are about 70% lower than the legal ones.
With around 80% of sales the illegal product, the actual price paid by smokers is around 60% lower than the ABS CPI figure
1.87 x 60 = 1.122
If the ABS had moved to use the actual price paid in September (which is said it will not do), tobacco would cut 1.12ppts from the CPI, so instead of headline inflation being 4.34%, it would be 3.22%

One Nation has defended a colouring book handed out at a country show. It depicts cartoon character Bluey being held at knifepoint and unflattering caricatures of various politicians.
Pauline Hanson & her goons are fueling violence in this country.

These three woman bow heads in respect of the injured Helen Haines. A day that the parliament did come together in respect. But, of course, @Matt_Camenzuli, disgraced former Liberal and RWNJ has to make an extremely tasteless comment. What an absolute fuckwit.

The One Hate Party poisoning a nation
So now I get why ON supporters tend to be rude, attacking & aggressive - they're being actively encouraged in this by the party.

I feel more people should be discussing Pauline Hanson suing over a satirical song about her back in 1997 and 2003.
@PPantsdown (Simon Hunt) released a song, 'I'm A Backdoor Man' that arranged Hanson soundbites to have her saying . . . 'I'm very proud that I'm not natural. I'm a backdoor man for the Ku Klux Klan' and 'I'm a very caring potato', among other words of wisdom.
Interestingly, Hanson's so-called support of satire escaped her and through her lawyers, she lodged defamation proceedings in the QLD courts, arguing the satire was injurious and defamatory and the lyrics and audio imputations falsely portrayed her as:
• a homosexual, a transvestite/man, or a prostitute
• engaging in unnatural sexual practices or pedophilia
• associating with the Ku Klux Klan
• being a subhuman or a "caring potato"
(please try to read that with a straight face)
The proceedings resulted in the granting of an injunction in Pauline Hanson's favour restraining the continued publication of the satirical material.
After remaining legally dormant for roughly five years, Hanson reactivated the existing defamation case in the Supreme Court of Queensland in mid-2003. Legal analysts and media noted that Hanson revived the lawsuit specifically around the same time she was facing high-profile criminal charges and prison time for electoral fraud.
Anywhoo, it seems Pauline Hanson and her team of bald men are very happy to cruelly and sadistically mock others, especially women with disabilities, but when it comes to mocking Pauline, that so-called sense of humour suddenly vaporises.

The irony that Hanson is complaining about migrant labour being delayed when she wants to stop migration for a few years.
Replying to @HouseOfRIPs

Thank you @AustralianLabor
"...almost two-thirds (63%) of Australians are now bulk-billed for all their GP care, up from 56% in both 2024 and 2025, which the report says is “likely a reflection of the federal government’s recent investment in Medicare bulk billing incentives”.

When anonymous RWFWs say "Pauline just openly says what everyone is thinking", what they really mean is "Pauline is saying what I don't have the guts to openly say because i know my family and friends would be even more convinced that I'm an ignorant racist redneck"

The MAGA meltdown over Obama’s Cheesecake Factory joke is fucking hilarious. These people have spent a decade worshipping a man who insults literally everyone, but Obama makes ONE joke about Trump’s tacky, gold-plated dictator aesthetic and suddenly the blue-check brigade is clutching pearls and demanding civility.
Now they’re calling OBAMA an out-of-touch elitist while defending a billionaire who lives in a gold-plated fantasyland and shits in a gold toilet.
The selective outrage is embarrassing. And the complete lack of self-awareness should be studied by scientists.
For people who built their entire political identity around “fuck your feelings,” MAGA sure has a lot of fucking feelings. ❄️❄️❄️❄️
Sorry Barrack Hussein @BarackObama,
Cheesecake Factory has good food and it’s a place Americans can afford.
We can’t all be like you and big Mike. You know, with private 5 star chefs who end up drowning and dying while naked in 2 feet of water at our Martha’s Vineyard mansions.
