As someone raising a vegetarian child there are now no longer any vegetarian child friendly meals at @McDonaldsUK so unfortunately we won’t be eating here again. 5 meat based happy meals but not one veggie option. My son loved the veggie dippers, he’s so upset!
Devastated at this. When will companies learn that most vegetarians do not want veggie options like the Mcplant that tastes like meat. They have taken everything I eat off the menu- no more @McDonaldsUK for me then 😭 #McDonalds

@McDonaldsUK Please tell me you aren't really taking away the only Happy Meal option for children who do not eat meat for religious or ethical reasons? My daughter loves the veggie Dippers and has had them at a birthday party recently. Why would you do that to kids????

I can't survive the pressure I'm under
I've been bullied into court by my warranty provider and if I lose I'm liable for costs
@Keir_Starmer's office is pushing paper whilst @AngelaRayner "monitors the situation" yet demonstrably misunderstands it
I just wanted a home😢
First Christmas in our house. Sat on our sofa feeling incredibly blessed to have reached this point through all the struggles to get here.
Shoutout to all the Brexiteers who wanted control over borders and fishing but have fucked over thousand of small UK businesses like mine who now can’t ship within the EU and NI anymore due to GPSR.

New properties just aren’t fit for purpose and there is no accessible recourse when things go wrong.
New build buyers need to be warned there are no consumer rights.

Post #Grenfell we are ready to remediate our block. Only our landlords and insurers - both @avivaplc are STOPPING remediation.
Come on @LucyMPowell @AngelaRayner @deansgatelabour - put them right. Make our homes safe.

'Thousands of people's lives are on hold and you have a minister who can't answer a simple question... It's just not good enough.'
An emotional caller Marita, who owns a property with unsafe cladding, lambasts the Building Safety Minister for dodging @TomSwarbrick1's questions.

Every Grenfell death was avoidable. When are those responsible going to be held accountable? #Grenfell #BuildingSafetyScandal

As another HPL building goes up in flames, a reminder that this did not come as a surprise. With the right political will, tough enforcement and building owners who really cared about safety, these blocks would have been made safe years ago

Lottie’s thread captures many of my own feelings after selling our leasehold flat in 2023. The relief, the sadness, the hope, the pain. Wondering if we will ever recover mentally and financially.
So pleased for her but angry there are millions still out there with no way forward

“I’m an average working parent from London and I send my child to private school. We’re going to be priced out because we have to send our child to state school”.
So you’re not the average working parent then? #skydebate

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't stamp duty up to £300k already zero. Why does Rishi keep saying that upping it to £450k will help young first time buyers. In my constituency the idea a young first time buyer is buying a house over £300k is well .... Out of touch

Private school is around 10 THOUSAND A TERM. You CANNOT "make a few sacrifices"/"work hard" and have a spare THIRTY THOUSAND A YEAR <per child!> It is a complete myth and I cannot stand to hear it ONE MORE TIME. It's not "normal families working hard" and "prioritising education"
And those saying “it’s only £4-5k a term” that’s still £10k+ a year. With all the will and “hard work” in the world I couldn’t afford that. Doesn’t mean I don’t have aspirations for my child.
Great to see @LibDems taking the lead to help Leaseholders by
"Abolishing residential leaseholds & capping ground rents to a nominal fee,so that everyone has control over their property"
@EdwardJDavey @libdemdaisy @KathPinnock
#Manifesto #GeneralElection @LKPleasehold #Housing
WHO WILL CAP EXISTING GROUND RENTS ❓
This was dropped at the last minute from the Leasehold & Freehold Act. It MUST be picked up & followed through with the next Government URGENTLY
#GeneralElection24 @UKLabour @Conservatives @LibDems @Keir_Starmer @RishiSunak @EdwardJDavey

ALT The Conservative Government promised a cap on existing ground rents which was apparently imminent. Then a General Election was called and the Leasehold & Freehold Bill was rushed through on 'Wash Up' dropping the Ground Rent Cap. This kept thousands of leaseholders TRAPPED with homes they can't sell. The next government MUST prioritise capping ground rents in the first Kings Speech. We need help now. This can't be kicked into the long grass.

Unimaginably horrific scenes in Rafah last night.
An Israeli airstrike hit tents housing displaced Palestinians, slaughtering men, women and children.
Israel's blatant defiance of the International Court of Justice must be met with action – starting with a ban on arms sales.
£8,000 a year is £666 a month. On top of mortgage, bills, daily living expenses and potentially ground rent too. That’s not affordable for the vast majority of people.
Greater control and transparency of service charges is desperately needed.
"My service charges have doubled from £4,000 to £8,000 a year. I feel like I'm being robbed".

The NLC Facebook group is inundated with desperate leaseholders trapped in homes they can't sell due to onerous ground rents because the government FAILED to bring in a Ground Rent Cap.
⚠️THE BILL FAILS THEM⚠️
Leaseholders now face more uncertainty.
