Jared Verse was top-6 in stops, hurries, hits, total pressures, and run stop win rate among edges last season and he's 25 years old.
People who say "any team could have matched" that offer for Myles Garrett have no idea how good Verse is.
Good deal for both sides. 📈📈

So let’s say the trade would have looked like this… would you feel better?

Expected new Browns DE Jared Verse, who was the 2024 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year, has 99 pressures since entering the league in 2024. Only Micah Parsons (119) and Myles Garrett (109) have more over that span, per ESPN Research.
Verse turns 26 in November and is eligible for a contract extension after the 2026 season.

#Browns Todd Monken said he was never given a guarantee that Myles Garrett would be on the team when he took the job at the Browns Foundation Golf Tournament at Firestone.

I got Browns fans mad at me because I think Shedeur Sanders can be our franchise QB. Meanwhile, Shedeur’s army is mad at me because I won’t crown him the greatest player to ever touch a football.

Browns have OTAs later in May. They’ve been in meetings rooms with the playbooks and coaches for a month now. Monken said he wants to have a good idea of his starting QB in June before they leave for the summer.

The Browns drafts have been a lot better since she’s been here. I’m just saying.
#Browns assistant GM Catherine Hickman said one thing that stood out to her about S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren was the fact that he chose to remain at Toledo when he had other offers:
"He was loyal to the school that gave him a chance."

Their last three picks are all guys we saw get mocked to them with the 24th pick.
Absolute home run draft.

KC Concepcion among the WRs I charted in this draft class for #ReceptionPerception:
- No. 1 in success rate vs. man coverage
- No. 3 in success rate vs. zone coverage
- No. 1 in success rate vs. press coverage
- No. 4 in contested catch rate (feels notable)
- No. 9 in rate of plays in space with a broken tackle
And yes, the second-highest drop rate (7.4%), but if that's your point of emphasis, I think you'll always miss the forest for the trees at this position. If everything else translates, you live with 7-8 drops in a season because the plays you make outweigh the plays you don't.
Maybe someone with a better, longer memory than me can think of a highly-drafted prospect who checked every other box, but outright failed because of drops. I don't think that example exists.
"He demolishes man and press coverage, is a reliable target against zone coverage and makes plays above the rim and with the ball in space. You really can’t ask for much more out of a Round 1 receiver prospect."
@MattHarmon_BYB would have no issues if a team took KC Concepcion in the top 20 of the draft. 📈

So many easy wins for Concepcion against press-man and off double moves where his QB misses him. Three more examples of this that probably left 200+ yards on the field.
