I lay in my bed but sleep eludes me because I cannot imagine that in a country with a constitution like ours which guarantees personal liberty and freedom of the person, an advocate can be abducted by men with guns in full view of cameras and the security agencies seem to think it is just business as usual.
We deliberately imposed the 24-hour production in court rule to STOP this exact kind of thing which was rampant in the Moi days.
We further imposed the right to Habeas Corpus and made it one of the four non-derogable rights under Article 25.
Yet yesterday we were treated to lies, melodrama and incoherent explanations. No Kenyan should be held even for a single minute outside the protection of the law.
Whatever issue the ATPU or NIS might have with any Kenyan does not give them any authority to hold a Kenyan incommunicado for even a minute leave alone the 96+ hours that they have now been holding wakili Abshir and Ayub Maalim.
I am unable to find any sleep in my comfortable bed because I do not know whether their lives may have been ended prematurely by rogue security agents or not.

Advocate, Abshir was abducted on the morning of 1st November at 4.40 AM. He has been held incommunicado for 73 hours as at 6.00AM today.
That is 50 hours past the constitutional limit of 24 hours! An advocate of the High Court.
How much lower can a state sink? If you see this just amplify and DEMAND for the unconditional release of wakili Abshir Abdi!

It cannot be business as usual when any Kenyan is abducted, leave alone an advocate of the High Court.
Advocate, Abshir Ahmedsadak Abdi was abducted on 1/11/26 along Muchai Drive. His motor vehicle was recovered on the same road. The incident was at Kilimani Police Station - 55/1/11/2026 .
Reports from people who witnessed the incident, indicate he was pursued by 2 motor vehicles, a Prado TX and a double cab. The occupants of those vehicles had guns and 2 were in what seemed like police uniform and bullet proof vests.
The abduction is linked to a case he’s involved in against some senior police officers & he’s been subjected to various intimidation tactics prior to this incident.
All KENYANS must now stand in solidarity with lawyers at this time. We have stood with Kenyans, selflessly, free of charge. It is time for Kenyans to pay back in Kind.
We should all peacefully hold a procession to Vigilance House demanding the release of the Abducted Advocate forthwith!

I urge all advocates to consider downing tools from today and holding a peaceful procession to Vigilance House to demand the release of abducted advocate Abshir Ahmedsadak Abdi who was abducted on Sunday 1st November 2026 along Muchai Drive.
Upon securing his release, we SHOULD also go to Makadara in our biggest numbers possible and be placed on record in the matter he is handling that led to his abduction so that we see whether they will abduct all of us!
