The fact that people will say there is no racial bias in medicine and yet will also say and believe things like this is just ridiculous

My baby sister is training to be a midwife so asked for feedback on how she takes blood. The senior midwife said she did perfect, but then went on to tell her that her Black skin is so beautiful but to keep in mind that Black skin is ‘thicker’ so may have to press harder 😕

You know what.
I no longer allow people to say my name wrong or spell it wrong.
I always correct it.
No matter how awkward.
Truly over getting emails with 'Kiki' on it or someone saying 'Kiki' in a meeting.
I honestly can not stand it.

My mum has just worked as nurse throughout the pandemic, a year after qualifying. Got COVID at work. She recovered (we thank God) and went back to work. She's now decided to apply for a new role in a different setting and this is what was sent to her by the recruiter. @CWPT_NHS

Deadline soon!!!
Unfortunately due to some issues with the Student Union’s website, all nominations that have been made on the SU website have been invalid and all UoN Societies have to facilitate their own elections for the next upcoming committee for 21/22. forms.gle/uzdFFP5N6gbbdh8MA

We are working closely with the police in their search for one of our students, Olisa Odukwe, last seen leaving his home in Redland on Sat morning. We ask the public & University community to be alert & contact the police if they think they’ve seen him. teapaw.org/ASPolice/status/138915…

I am moved that The Unremembered doc I presented for @DavidOlusoga @UplandsTV & @Channel4 based on research by @michelevbarrett has led to an apology from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
The arc of history is long but it bends towards the truth.

I’m confused because one minute it’s solidarity with victims of police brutality & racism overseas, but when it’s police brutality on British soil, it’s solidarity with the police (& statues).
So what’s really the truth??
