If you’re still in line to cosponsor a resolution for nyc dsa convention, stay in line!
curious to know what the mayor was supposed to do about intro 1B when the council passed it with a veto proof majority. He didn’t sign it into law. Does WOL think he should have sued the council?
THREE YEARS OF GENOCIDE. THREE YEARS OF RESISTANCE.
📍 New York City Hall
🗓️ October 7, 2026
⏰ 4:00pm
October 7th marks three years of the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, one of the deadliest ongoing and globally broadcasted massacres in modern history.
October 7th marks three years since resistance against imperialism changed the fate of our world forever.
In New York City, Mayor Zohran Mamdani campaigned on promises to the Palestine movement. He has betrayed his own alleged values, failing to make those promises a reality. Instead, he has repeatedly capitulated to zionist pressure: Criminalizing protests against the sale of stolen Palestinian land in New York City through the passage of the NYC Council Bill Intro 1-B; allowing the NYPD to surveil, arrest, and violently suppress protests against these illegal land sales; and most recently, pledging $26 million tax dollars to the “Strategy to Combat Anti-Semitism“ which will provide funding for zionist propagandist groups such as JCRC-NY; and security infrastructure for zionist synagogues which host illegal real estate sales of stolen Palestinian land to expand settlements.
The Mayor’s claim of solidarity with the Palestinian people is meaningless when it is followed by no action and capitulation to zionist pressure.
🇵🇸 Join us on October 7th at 4pm outside City Hall to hear the student movement's demands to the Mayor of New York City, one of two institutional authorities over the CUNY Board of Trustees.
🇵🇸 Join us to honor our martyrs, prisoners, and liberators, and to remind New York City that we will not rest until the complete liberation of the Palestinian people.
$26 million is also not being allocated to the antisemitism task force. That is the entire amount allocated to the office to prevent hate crimes. The task force budget is $6.4 million
the freakish and disgusting antisemitic responses to the task force are lowkey an ideological victory for Israel
a lot of supposed leftists REALLY bought into the Zionist conflation of antizionism and antisemitism and now think that addressing antisemitism (a real thing) is identical to running cover for Zionism. deeply sad.
im like addicted to doing spoonerisms in my mind, the second I see a word or phrase I spoonerize it. Last night at the Paris Theatre I was just immediately thinking “Larry Byndon”

i don’t understand how you can believe both that the police are a racist, rogue paramilitary force that exists to protect capital and is beyond reform (true), and also that zohran as mayor is able to personally direct and control the NYPD’s actions

diff actors in the movement play diff roles. the entire objective of a civil disobedience is to get arrested. electeds performatively getting got is good. the green march hours after the speech is good. birddogging him everywhere he goes is good. these are not in contradiction.
if that had happened then maybe we could have a conversation about whether or not its repression under Zohran is revealing in some way!
everyone who thinks taking an arrest is no longer a viable direct action tactic because Zohran is the mayor is baby brained I’m sorry
