In the 20th century, a foreign organism was deliberately introduced to a new environment to address a perceived imbalance.
The organism, characterized by its resilience and rapid reproduction, was released into the wild with little consideration for its long-term impact.
Initially, the plan appeared promising, as the new arrival showed enthusiasm for its new environment. However, unforeseen consequences soon emerged, as the organism's unchecked proliferation and indiscriminate predation began to disrupt the delicate balance of the local ecosystem.
Its presence, once hailed as a remedy, became a challenge that continues to perplex authorities to this day.
This post is not about cane toads.
You don't need God or gods to be religious.
A religion is a set of beliefs that provides a narrative of man's place in the world and his duties, defines what is moral and what is immoral, that instructs us how to live

Even if she did, it wouldn’t necessarily bring enough revenue to bring them out of receiving benefits.
The biggest national security issue the UK will face is the rise of far-right extremism.
@andyburnham must address this urgently.
The 1930s was not a once-in-a-lifetime event; if we are not careful, it could happen again soon.
Oh Lord, give me a sign, just one little sign that my faith is not misplaced, and that You exist and You have a plan, even if it is beyond my reckoning.

Genuine questions for French/Euro people: Are you guys just finished, or what? Is there a plan? They’re not going to assimilate, and the problem gets more difficult to solve with each passing day. They’re all from countries that would respond to what they’re doing with mass killing, and your humanitarian forbearance does not earn their respect, but their scorn.
Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen.
I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn.
And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.

This is how it actually works btw.
You are handed the role of local administrator, you absorb public acrimony on behalf of the regime in the manner of a heat shield — then as you are used up and the public tire of you, you are rotated out for another bureaucrat.
The same rotten policies continue on just as before, now with a fresh face to sell them to the public.
The real prize comes afterwards in the form of endless dinners and handsomely compensated speaking events.
That is the administrative workflow. They're not really presidents or prime ministers or "leaders" in the way the average voter would understand the term. I'm not sure how long it has been like this.
They're just interchangeable heat shields.

"Shallow rote learning" means English kids actually know things (which they have to learn and be assessed on) unlike Scottish pupils, many of whom are shockingly ignorant. Even more important you cannot exercise or develop critical thinking skills in the absence of agreed verifiable knowledge - otherwise it's all feelz. There is now a backlash against so-called skills education which has demoted knowledge in many "progressive" systems, and the SNP is behind the curve.

5 years ago, everyone was claiming that Starlink was an impossible pipe dream, it would never scale, it would never be profitable, dumbass Elon.
Today, everyone is claiming that they are going to build and launch and maintain their own LEO constellation like it's no big deal.
Security services still telling us that the greatest risk of domestic terrorism is the "far right"
Not a factory. Not a protest outside a gate. Their homes. Their families’ cars. At night.
A group calling itself “The List” has gone after defence workers’ homes in Fleet, Dunfermline and South Queensferry. Houses and cars were covered in red paint, tyres slashed, and “baby killers” sprayed on a garage.
They boast of a “bank of addresses” built from hacking and leaks.
“Quit your job, or risk a visit from The List.”
If that’s not a threat, what is?

The beautiful thing about rejecting the blank slate is that intelligence stops conveying morality and begins demanding noblesse oblige.
There needs to be a place for men of every ability in our communities, and it falls on the more intelligent among us to make that possible.
Children who are illiterate and dumb generally have parents who are illiterate and dumb. And the children who are illiterate and dumb generally stay that way no matter what external system is forced upon them. We haven't really figured out any way to take dumb people and turn them into smart people reliably. What we've done instead is create a society that works exceedingly well for smart people and makes being smart the only viable pathway for success. I think that should be the primary discussion we have and we should reorganize our society to make a place where dumb people can flourish and succeed. Right now we've created a system called "school" which is really well designed for smart people and very poorly designed for dumb people.

There is no Right. There is just “not the Left.” Being on the Right today is the same as being a Protestant in the 16th century: No one agrees on anything, they just know they’re not Catholic.

Britain will burn unless we deport those who want us dead
Muslims:
He’s talking about Muslims
I assume Rupert Lowe is talking about Muslims and immigrants here.
There is no credible evidence establishing that Muslims or immigrants are behind the unrest in France. The protests have been driven by anger over living costs, inequality and deteriorating public services.
Yet some people are determined to blame Muslims and immigrants regardless of the facts.
If you're going to insinuate Muslims and immigrants are fuelling the unrest, produce verifiable evidence. Name your sources. Substantiate your claims. Otherwise, stop exploiting public disorder to spread prejudice and collective blame.
