We built Pandroid to enable us to run fleet level RL, and I’m excited to share this robot for other people to build on!
In this design we were obsessed with simplicity and quality - adding very few core components that we tested rigorously. For actuation we needed BLDC motors to enable a long life and so we collected tens of thousands of hours of data before we integrated a motor. The robot structure is designed without a single machined component; fully from sheet metal - which enables us to keep the robots accessible, and as close to the cost of materials as possible.
All of this makes Pandroid a reliable platform for robot learning — trustworthy, safe and small while being broadly capable.
We set out to collect 10M hours of on-embodiment data as a starting point for robotics models, but couldn’t find a robot reliable enough at a price that made it possible. So, we built one.
Meet Pandroid: an accessible hardware platform for AI. Small enough to safely experiment with, durable enough to run in fleets. Connect it to any model or coding agent over SSH to let it interact with the world.

As we continue to build out our internal fleet (only a fraction shown here!) it’s delightful what this enables us to do!
Stay tuned for more science, more features and more robots :)

We’re a small team in San Francisco developing generally intelligent robots and capable models with simple, scalable methods. If this work sounds exciting to you, we’re hiring across hardware and research! Please apply.

SF is amazing because sometimes tiny robots appear and plant flowers in your garden

Pandroid is the first robot of many siblings that I want to exist in our lives in the present and future.
And the models powering many Pandroids in the future will be able to learn scalably, rapidly, and continuously.
All brought to you by the amazing @pantographPBC team.

it's been such a pleasure to work with the ever talented @donaldjewkes on how to capture the shape of what we're building at pantograph!
Excited to share more next week :)
Excited to share our first model, Pan-1! This model is our first step towards scaling generally intelligent models on robots - and a key part of our quest to collect 10 million hours of useful data and deploying useful and robust robots.

Finally got around to making a personal website! kelsey.xyz/
more to come here, I'm planning to add some more visibility settings for friends :)

Extremely excited to show a preview of what we've been working on!
Introducing Pantograph. We're building a preschool for robots: they teach themselves through exploration, failure, and curiosity.

Today, we're sharing an early preview of our first generation hardware: treaded base, two six-degree-of-freedom arms, 1kg continuous payload each. We've put 10,000+ hours of stress and endurance testing into the critical components.
Excited to announce the what I have been spending all my days (and nights) on for the last many months! Bullish on inexpensive and reliable robots built for general intelligence. If scaling thousands of robots sounds fun to you - please reach out :)

Former K-Scale folks who are now carrying the torch:
- @mattfreed / @tetradynamics - cofounder, led mechanical engineering
- @pfbudzianowski / stealth - cofounder, led AI, created EdgeVLA
- @chrisvtom / @humancomplab - led K-Bot
- @_kelsey_pool / stealth - led Zeroth Bot
- @JingxiangMo / @_naturalfreq / @gradientrobots - led firmware

A thing to know here is that multiple ex-k-scalers have now gone to found new hardware companies
We've seen where the opportunity lies

And myself
There's now more, not less hardware.
Some have also gone to go do just software, but we dont talk about those @pfbudzianowski :P
