One of the worst feelings as a neurodivergent person is be excited about something and have someone make me feel stupid for it. so now l don't tell people things. I get a new job.
I finish a book. I hit a goal. and | tell nobody. Once you've had your excitement embarrassed out of you, you stop offering it up.

I think he nailed it. I think it's why I'm more content with watching a lot of late 90s/2000s anime dubs because somewhere along the way after that they all started doing this shit and I can't be bothered to watch newer English dubs. – at Lisle, IL

I'm increasingly convinced that the willingness to change your mind is the ultimate sign of intelligence. The most impressive people I know change their minds often in response to new information. It's like a software update. The goal isn't to be right. It's to find the truth.

I think the cost of being overly observant or mature is that i don't quite fit in with anyone anymore. Everything people do nowadays doesn't sit right with me.
They gossip about people they barely know, they judge someone's appearance because it makes them feel powerful. And mostly, they talk behind people's backs as if they are any better.
Why is this all such a normalized behaviour? Why is hate spreading everywhere so easily? Why haven't people stopped for a moment and thought about how cruel their behaviours are?
Every once in a while, I like to look around, and tell myself that we are all just humans trying to live. How can I judge someone when I know nothing about their life, or their situation, or what they're going through?
I shouldn't judge, and neither should you.

The boss behind GTA 6 Strauss Zelnick shares his initial reaction after receiving the call from Rockstar Games informing him of the delay.
Intelligent people have no friends. Or maybe just one or two. The thing is... they observe too much. They notice the little things most people miss. The change in your tone. The energy behind a compliment. The difference between what you say and what you "actually" do. The intentions behind carefully chosen words. They observe patterns. Read behaviours like a book. They can sense whether you're pretending, or being genuinely happy for them. They don't say it. But trust me, they know.

Being “high functioning” is such a strange experience. It’s basically being disabled while everyone around you assumes you’re fine because you’ve managed to keep things together.
Your struggles become invisible, your needs get dismissed, and people start acting like you have no reason to complain. The moment you admit you’re having a difficult time, you’re made to feel like you’re exaggerating because you supposedly have it better than people with more visible or severe difficulties.

dear young people, life is more than good grades, degrees, and a stable job. learn about neuroplasticity, pattern recognition, game theory, metacognition, quantum mechanics, and non-linear careers. stay curious, keep learning, and stay grounded in faith. it's okay to fail, change direction, and start again. trust God and stop comparing your journey with others. success isn't about getting ahead of everyone else, but becoming the person God created you to be.

cant make this shit up tonight I opened X, saw a plane hit the ground at 200000 mph, a detroit lions players get horribly injured, an old video of the tsunami destroying japan, a cop get shot, and a post about cancer in <<<< 5 minutes (not an exaggeration). immediately got sad. will be ruminating for a while. love this app. love what social media offers the world. but holy shit if you dont think sitting on these apps all day can negatively impact your mood then youve really gotta take a look in the mirror.
Crazy things have happened every single day for the entire history of mankind. The only difference is this is the first time in history you have an engagement-based feed shoving them all in your face 24/7. There are 7 billion-plus people in this world, 5 billion of whom have cell phone cameras. The world is crazy. You are not supposed to, nor should you, expose yourself to every morbid event going on in this world. The people that promulgate these events are incentivized to do so via ad revenue, engagement, etc. I'm all for keeping an ear to the ground and staying aware of what's going on in this world, but youve got to differentiate between signal and bait.
