John was the first goalkeeper I recall ever watching at the Bank and his keeper top the first one I ever had.

He was part of the Imps promotion winning side of 1997-1998.

Jarred Gillett gives Newcastle offside, yet Aston Villa take the resulting free kick INSIDE the Newcastle half, exactly where the linesman is indicating the offside occurred.
And this is in the build-up to Villa’s goal.
Can someone explain how an offside offence in Villa’s half results in a free kick for Villa in Newcastle’s half? Make that make fucking sense. 🤦‍♂️
