An oldie (not a goodie)... "It is not because we care about children... NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power."
The teachers unions bring in ~$3 Billion EACH year. They dominate presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, legislative, superintendent, and school board elections. They run the teacher colleges. They could fix our K-12 system tomorrow if they wanted to - why don’t they?

A mother's love! Ilen tells the story of the sacrifices her mom made to ensure she found a school that could best meet her daughter's needs: "When it came time to enroll me back in school for a 2nd year of kindergarten, my mother did tireless amount of research... she would literally go to school districts and ask them what can I do for my child? How can I find something better for my child until someone was able to actually tell her about the school choice program that we have in Florida... I went to La Salle, which is about 45 minutes away from me, and my mother drove me every day to school. She worked out her hours at work so she could drive me every day to school even if it meant like spending more money on gas and spending more money on driving all the way over there. She did it for me and I could not be happier to call her my mother and I wouldn't be who I am today without her."

"Thanks to President Trump, we are restoring the greatest power to the most essential decision-makers in a child's education: their parents." - @EDSecMcMahon

Every Governor should opt in and be able to say “ I CHOSE to put my state’s children and families first!” Let’s go!
Every governor in every state should say yes to this opportunity. "Supporters characterize it as “free money” for parents to spend on their child’s education that does not drain state budgets. The American Federation for Children, which backs the incentive, estimated that more than $3 billion could flow into California if the state opts in."

"The American Federation for Children projects that 51.7 million children, or 90% of total public and private school students, will be eligible." That includes almost 6M students in California that will be eligible for the Education Freedom Tax Credit. Every governor in every state, including Gov. Newsom, should say yes to this opportunity!

An analysis from @SchoolChoiceNow estimates that more than 2.3M WI taxpayers could qualify for the federal tax credit. If just 10% participated, WI donors could generate about $363M per year in scholarships for WI students. At 20% participation, that figure would exceed $726M.

There is nothing partisan about giving every child the opportunity to succeed. That's why dozens of states, both red and blue, have opted into @POTUS Education Freedom Tax Credit, the largest national expansion of education freedom in history! Thank you, @POTUS for delivering for America's children.

The Education Freedom Tax Credit will be great for students in Ohio. Every governor in every state should say yes to this opportunity.
Great to have @SecScottBessent in Columbus to discuss the Education Freedom Tax Credit, which gives families more options to choose the education that best meets their children’s needs.

‘Consistent advocate for school choice in Alabama’: American Federation for Children PAC (@AFCVictoryFund) backs Tuberville in governor’s race "Tommy Tuberville has been a consistent advocate for school choice in Alabama and across our country, standing with parents and fighting to ensure more children have access to an education that meets their unique needs," said AFCVF CEO Tommy Schultz (@Tommy_USA). "From supporting the historic Education Freedom Tax Credit to championing Alabama's CHOOSE Act, Coach Tuberville @CoachForGov understands that parents know what's best for their children's education." 1819news.com/news/item/consi…

🟨 Highlight: Treasury’s proposed EFTC rules include several provisions specifically relevant to students with disabilities. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥-𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥-𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 Potential examples include educational speech-language, occupational, behavioral, and physical therapy; other educational therapies; and special-education evaluations. 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 Reading intervention and dyslexia support, math and subject-area intervention, and other specialized academic support. 𝐓𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐬 Tuition at a qualifying K–12 school may be eligible, including at schools that specialize in serving students with disabilities. 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬, 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦 Computer hardware and peripherals may qualify, as may educational software, and internet access and related services, subject to applicable use requirements. Other eligible expenses may apply, such as room and board at an appropriate institution. The proposed rules allow SGOs to fund services like academic tutoring for students who remain enrolled in public schools. A special income-verification safe harbor applies to some students receiving tutoring or special-needs services in low-income areas. If the student is selected based on an individual academic or special need and the school meets the qualified-census-tract rules, the student can be treated as meeting the household-income requirement without separate income verification. SGOs using this provision must obtain an annual third-party audit. The EFTC also does not replace or alter existing IDEA obligations. Finally, states generally cannot narrow the types of qualified expenses SGOs may fund. This preserves room for SGOs to focus on tutoring, special-needs services, or other qualified supports. #FSTC #specialeducation #StudentsWithDisabilities #educationtaxcredit #scholarshipgrantingorganizations #schoolchoice #EducationPolicy
